It's slim pickings, isn't it?

Pretty much the only player we have out on loan that starts the majority of the time is Daniel Iversen

Wright was starting every game until his injury, currently back with us for rehab and his loan runs until the end of the season but as he could be out until March or even longer Cheltenham may just ask to end the loan in January

Leshabela and Hirst need to be recalled in January and sent somewhere else, possibly even just try and sell Hirst at this point

Shade is doing okay, started 6 of 10 possible league games and came off the bench in the other 4 so he is getting good game time

Hughes I get the feeling there is some kind of permanent deal involved in that with Burton as they signed him on loan whilst he is still out with a long term injury

...you just get the feeling that Hirst only get to come on if the game has already gone!!!

He is also then always associated with a poor result. I would love him to take control of his own career and either drop a league and work his way back. He need someone to see him being himself and trusting too much into what coaches are telling him.

A song for our loanees

Um, Um, Um, Um

Walking through the park, it wasn't quite dark
There was a man sitting on a bench
Out of the crowd as his head lowly bowed
He just moaned and he made no sense
He'd just go
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Um, um, um, um, um, um
I just couldn't help myself
Yes, I was born with a curious mind
I asked this man just what did he mean
When he moaned if he'd be so kind
And he'd just go
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Now that I've grown up
And the woman I love she has gone
Now that I'm a man, I think I understand
Sometimes everyone must sing this song
Listen to me sing
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Can't you hear me, now
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Everybody now
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Can't you hear me, now
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Um, um, um, um, um, um
Um, um, um, um, um, um
One more time, now

Out of the lads out on loan, how many realistically could play for our 1st team in the future? Other than  Praet who we know is good enough but probably will be sold and possibly Iversen, are there anymore who look like they could make the grade?

The few games Callum Wright played, he looked decent. Difficult to call some zones ceiling in such a small sample though, of which I only saw a handful of those games.

Iversen will make the grade I believe and hopefully with us. It would make sense to keep him playing football, even if he’s out on loan and eventually become Kaspers successor. He’s made some brillaint saves this season.

Praet obviously has ability but didn’t tick enough boxes for Brendan.

Hirst seems to have got his move here off the back of his name / his father. OHL we’re not blown away by him and it seems he’s just not going to cut it. The feedback seems to be that teams expect him to play the role of the big man, however he’s much better suit to having the ball on the ground. Maybe we need to recall him and get him a League 2 move.

I’m surprised Lashebela hasn’t featured more, as he showed bright sparks at times. He won’t make the grade as a Premier League player though.

How long is Wright out for?

Expected to be out around 5 more months which takes us to around March/April, I imagine Cheltenham will probably look to cancel the loan in January as even if he is back in March/April it would still take him a while to get back up to match fitness

His season is basically done I would think, probably a few under 23 appearances for us towards the back end of the season maybe but I can't see him playing another game of senior football this season

I feel like @moore_94 can take this season off. I guess thats what happens when your under 23's perform so poorly the year before.

It is pretty disappointing this season to see how many of our players just aren't even getting game time off the bench in their loans this season, hopefully the ones that need it get recalled and sent somewhere else

Wright looked like he could be following in the steps of KDH in how well he was doing on loan, quite a few of us were thinking he could even get recalled in January and sent to the Championship he started the season that well until his injury, 3 goals and 3 assists in 8 games!

Leshabela will need quite the turn around in his loan and he has just turned 22, but if he is struggling to even get into a poor Shrewsbury side it doesn't give me much hope

Shade is doing okay at Walsall but probably going to be a League One player at most really

Hirst struggling again this season to even start and even when he does get a rare start he doesn't contribute, honestly should just try to get rid of him in January (if Portsmouth send him back) or next summer when his loan ends

Hughes yet to appear this season for Burton as he is still out injured from the knee injury he suffered last season, but I expect he will join them permanently at some point

Praet of course we know his quality, and Iversen I am fully expecting at some point to be drafted in to compete for 1st choice eventually

Overall not a good time for our loanees really!
