Have we sent Hirst to a side that already have a decent striker at that level?

Yep, 16 goals and 6 assists for Portsmouth last season

Hirst going to be restricted to time off the bench like last season at Rotherham it looks like

Wright with a goal for Cheltenham.

Doing a decent job of stepping up from League 2, to League 1

Always been a goal threat for the 23s and scored a few on loan. Hopefully one that will go through the leagues like KDH has. Always looked a bit too slight for me so hopefully bulk up a bit over time!

I think George Hirst might break Iain Dowie's record for the most appearances without a goal as a striker.

Another season he looks set for 10 minutes off the bench if he is lucky, only managed 795 minutes (8.8 games) for Rotherham, I imagine his gameplay time will look summer by next May

Will be excellent for him if he can cement a place in their side.

They are bottom of League One at the moment with 0 points from 3 games so you would certainly hope that he can get his way into the team!

Leicester City 'magician' tipped for Premier League by loan club
The attacking midfielder scored his first goal of the new League One season in midweek, meaning he has now contributed to four in three starts since going back out on loan

Leicester City loanee Callum Wright is being tipped for the top as he goes from strength to strength on loan at Cheltenham Town.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder scored his first of the season on Tuesday, heading in at the back post as the Robins beat League One promotion favourites Ipswich 2-1.

That’s now a goal and three assists for Wright in just three starts for Cheltenham this season, where he is on loan for the season having spent the second half of the last campaign there, helping them to win the League Two title.

Manager Michael Duff is fully aware of Wright’s talents.

Asked about his impressive goal and assist numbers, Duff said: “That’s what Callum brings, he showed that last year.

“He’s a different type of player but he has a habit of landing on things in and around the goal. He’s had a couple of shots today, the keeper’s made a good save.”

Robins fans are also in awe of Wright, the 21-year-old receiving high praise after his performances over the past week.

Here’s what they said:

@musto_jim: “Callum Wright, he’s just absolutely spotless, Prem in four years maximum I’m telling you now.”

@w_edden: “Special mention for Callum Wright who could be a really important player for us this season.”

@winemakingjan: “Callum Wright was on fire.”

@_CallumPal96: “Iniesta has posters of Callum Wright on his bedroom wall, pass it on.”

@Ollie_Furniss10: “Wow what a win that was. 10000% naming the first born Callum Wright as well by the way.”

@_nmg10: “Callum Wright is the best in the world.”

@maxihobbs: “Callum Wright is the key to unlocking so many defences this year. What a find he was.”

@cleevecomment: “Callum Wright = magician.”

Elsewhere, City goalkeeper Daniel Iversen and Preston fell to a third Championship defeat from three, despite opponents Huddersfield not having a single shot on target.

An own goal from Sepp van den Berg 15 minutes from time settled the match, leaving Iversen and Preston bottom of the table as one of two teams yet to collect a point, along with Nottingham Forest.

In League One, George Hirst was an unused substitute as Portsmouth beat Shrewsbury 1-0 to move to the top of the League One table, while an injury kept Tyrese Shade out of the Walsall line-up as they collected their first point in League Two with a 1-1 draw against Scunthorpe.

wonder if we have a recall on Wright so we can send him to the Championship if he carries on like this?

I think we'd start losing our street cred if we did something like "12 month loan unless player takes the leugue by storm in which case we'll have him back in January to forward on. Probable legal implications I'd imagine.

Only legal implication would be if we included the recall clause, we would have every right to recall him if we wanted to
