I don’t, but he impressed Rogers enough to be in a premier league squad and get his debut. Hopefully he’s applying himself fully in training at forest green, got 75 minutes yesterday, hopefully gets the last 4/5 games starting for them!

Most players do. 
 

It’s as much about the head coach / manager having trust in a player to fulfil tactics etc, as it is about ability.

Johansson rejected a new contract to seek first team football, glad it worked out for him

Short clip but looks like he cans handle the next level up, championship loan next season at minimum if we are keeping him?

I've been trying to find out, I had heard we'd got the option of a further year like we did with Josh Knight. Hopefully we have a long term plan for both club and player though that isn't just us exercising our right to keep him for another year when he'd like to in fact leave.

 

Get him on a new 4 year deal and in to the Championship next season, then back with us aged 22 and KDH territory.

Didn't we only exercise our option on Knight in order to make some money on his transfer? Cheltenham would obviously pay something to keep him; they adore him. They know that if we extended his deal, he'd be loaned to a Championship team, and it would be difficult to get him back after that. We have so many attacking midfielders coming through the academy right now, I wouldn't be surprised if the club cashed in at the summer.

 

I mean, I would prefer we would keep him, but I also thought we should have kept Knight (he would have been a better option than Benko, I think we can all agree). But I think we should keep all the loanees who are playing well, because I don't run the club.

 

But we do need to start selling our youngsters, even if there is potential, to make the academy start earning. Wright is about to turn 22, he'll be 23 at the end of next season (the theoretic Championship loan). I know that's the same age as KDH, but 1) Rodgers admits the club should have loaned KDH earlier, and worked him into the first quad sooner; and 2) KDH is a true blue Leicester fan, who wanted nothing more than to play for his boyhood club. We picked up Wright from Blackburn. 

 

A four year deal means he's on the books until he is 26, at an inflated wage for someone in the Football League. If he fails to make the step up from League 1, we are stuck with him, and he will end up being loaned out for the final three years of his contract (because that's a huge pay drop for a permanent move.)

 

I think we should exercise the option, and give him a preseason to prove himself to the gaffer. If he does, he's in our squad and we sign him up to a longer term deal (Justin made the step-up from League 1); if not, me move him to Cheltenham for a fee. I just don't see the financial sense in signing up an over 22 player for a long-term deal so we can put him back on the loan carousel.

As well as developing a players for the first team we also need to start to be making a profit from the one who we don't want.

 

With he new European finance rules we need to find ways to generate more income, to be competitive. 

 

We need to be selling a few more like we did with Sowah.

Todays Result - Tuesday 12th April

 

League One:

 

George Hirst (8.9 + 1 goal + 1 assist + MOTM - 90 mins) - Portsmouth 3-0 Rotherham

 

Won the free kick that resulted in the 1st goal, brilliant run and assist for the 2nd, good finish for the 3rd
