Loans 2021/22

With his contract up this is why it makes sense for him to be an understudy for a year, especially if Kasper does us a favour and lets us know. Learn all you can from Kasper, pick up some stuff, get first team experience and then be ready to take over the position in 23/24.

Just seems astoundingly obvious to me, if we truely believe he's going to be good enough.

The other issue is that Kasper is getting to an age where injuries are going to happen. Even howlers (**cough**).

If we have a season like 16-17, where Kasper was out for several games, Iversen could become #1 by merit. It is how these transitions often take place.

Developmentally, I think it makes way more sense to get that Prem loan and see whether he thrives or sinks before we commit to him getting a shot as number 1.

A prime example is Dean Henderson for instance

As I say, Prem loan makes sense to me if a team wants him as first choice. If it's a choice between Championship or basically giving him a year work experience before he takes over the reigns then I think it'd do him the world of good to see. It also gives us a first hand look at if we think he'll be number one. If we don't think he's good enough then we can sell him, otherwise we've got Kaspers replacement bedded into the squad and ready to go

We might be lucky to find a prem club that lets us train our new keeper on their time

Best bet would be one of the promoted teams

Get Sheff Utd up, they love a loan keeper

Best bet for us would be Luton, I think they’ve used 5 different keepers this season, including a couple of loanees. KDH worked well there and they’ve also taken Muskwe this season, so the relationship is there - just hope they go up now!

Especially if they beat Forest in the play-offs.

Job advert for Branston's replacement

https://trainingground.guru/jobs-listings/pdp-loans-manager

LCFC are looking for individual with significant experience in professional football to work with and support our young players on loan.

Working closely with the Director of Football and U23 Staff, the successful post-holder will support the identification of loan opportunities through an in-depth analysis of football league clubs and their own network of individuals across the football landscape.

Taking into consideration the best interests of the young players’ development, whilst out on loan, the role will provide a comprehensive package of support to assist the player navigate the challenges of being on loan, living away from home and the academy environment.

This is a unique role that can assist a player in the first steps of a senior professional career and as such requires an individual that has a detailed knowledge and experience of player development at this age but also the skills to utilise the expertise that exist from the various academy departments including Player Care, Performance Support and Coaching.

How poor were they with a 5.9 rating being MoTM

From looking at his stats really not quite sure how he got given it over some of their other players, must be the favourite player of the the person who chose haha

Been playing as a wingback for them, was a winger for the u23s. No idea on his contract though.

He's played as a regular winger for them for most of the season and doesn't seem to have set the world alight but since Michael Flynn came in he's started playing him as a wing back which clearly suits him much better. Transfermarkt says his contract expires in the summer, think he'd be better moving on and forging a career in the EFL.
