Fofana Injury

Haven't felt so distraught in a long time. Could see Schmeicel consoling Amartey but I think that was because he himself was on the verge of tears after seeing the doctors crowd around Wes like they did around Eriksen during the Euros. Hell of a trigger. Wesley is only 20 so he'll recover fast. Hope he doesn't lose any of his adventurous spirit.

Completely normal challenge, very unfortunate.

Gonna be hard for all the lads, they'll all be keen to get off and find out what's gone on.

All the best to Wes of course, we're a family here and he'll have everything he needs, big up to the lads!

That was blatant retaliation. That’s never a normal challenge

ABSOLUTELY CRIMINAL!

I saw that coming as the play developed. Nino had been hopping mad that Wes inadvertently stepped on his achilles and the ref did nothing. The Red Mist was unmistakable, and could cost a fellow professional a season.

Speedy Recovery Wes!!

Big Dan probably reminded of his broken ankle and that no doubt brings back many related awful memories of that evening ….

The thing with injuries like this is that even if he recovers totally, he will always have the nagging doubt in his head that his leg will be a fraction weaker, meaning pulling out of challenges when he normally wouldn't etc.  That's human nature but if its a bad one that sees him out for 12 months, he can't come back the same player. It's so annoying as there was malice in the challenge, in a friendly.

That was in a friendly weren't it, he was out for 6 months and then came back and did really well for 3 games and then innocuously broke it again.

yep, never really got over it.Could have been a great asset to us at the time and still was,but not at the level he was before the injury.

Honestly you usually seem pretty switched on but how the **** can you say that’s a completely normal challenge? It’s pre season he scissor kicked him from behind and followed through and at best only broke one bone! Ffs man it was a shocker even as a last ditch challenge to win the World Cup let alone a retaliation in a meaningless friendly at what I believe the score was 3-0.
