LCFCCHRIS Posted 4 August 2021 Share Posted 4 August 2021 May just be the emotions of what happened. But I think I will be supporting Chelsea for their game (never thought I'd say that).

Foxxed Posted 4 August 2021 Share Posted 4 August 2021 I hope the team pulls together and does something for little wes next match. He's barely even an adult. Poor lad.
Ric Flair Posted 4 August 2021 Share Posted 4 August 2021 I know this was a freak and malicious injury but that's the 4th injury for Fofana in a year. A knee injury before he signed for us, 2 hamstring injuries that were several week injuries and now this. Hope this doesn't hamper his career as he's destined to be world class if not. Adrian Posted 4 August 2021 Share Posted 4 August 2021 Maybe I'm overly emotional but this kills our season...at this level its small percentages...fofana is better signing than tielmans, ndidi, ricardo...imagine mahrez gets hurt in 2015 like this...history is completely changed
Leicester_Loyal Posted 4 August 2021 Share Posted 4 August 2021 We don't have any luck with injuries. I was just saying pre-match that once Justin, Evans and Castagne are back in a few weeks we'll have an unbelievable team, and now Fofana is out for potentially the season before we've kicked a ball competitively! Lad1966 Posted 4 August 2021 Share Posted 4 August 2021 I was at the match, the tackle was horrific. No point wasting energy on the Villereal plAyer, I am saving my energy to wish Little Wes a speedy recovery 🙏🏽
blurryface Posted 4 August 2021 Share Posted 4 August 2021 Sucked the life out the atmosphere, photos on phones almost instantly, gutted for him on what should've been a great night back for everyone. Get well soon wes. Iborra needs to clean whoever it was up in training
Les-TA-Jon Posted 4 August 2021 Share Posted 4 August 2021 It’s a triple whammy this. We are denied one of our best players, our defence is weakened and our attack, since we probably don’t have the time, opportunity or funds to sign the (now 2) CBs we need and a RW

Not only that but it should have come with a complete dressing down, which I highly doubt took place even post game. If anything he’s probably been consoled - worse yet, congratulated on his goal. Hope Iborra goes right through Niño in training.

There are plenty of examples where people have been prosecuted for attacking people during sporting competition when it has caused serious injury or harm. There are exceptional circumstances where this has possibly happened in high level competitive sport. Normally you can argue 'Volenti no fit injuria', which essentially means a player accepts the risk when you step on a competitive sports pitch - i.e. Leicester could never sue for a dangerous tackle if with an apology which often happens. It is a disgrace though that a player like Nino can make a challenge like that and get away with it. Should be banned for as long as Fofana is injured or at least 50% of the time. The twist of his body in the follow through was disgusting.
MrSpaM Posted 4 August 2021 Share Posted 4 August 2021 (edited) Whatever happens we need to buy a decent replacement, somebody who is going to hit the ground running, because a season of Amartey, Benkovic and the kid we brought on being backup scares the s**t out of me The defence we brought on after the injury would genuinely conceed about 3 goals a game minimum Edited 4 August 2021 by MrSpaM

jmono84 Posted 4 August 2021 Share Posted 4 August 2021 If I’m honest he wins the ball and the follow through gets Fofana. The tackle was out of frustration from the player which was completely unnecessary but he has come in from the side and got the ball first. It’s just a shame Fofana was stretching as the guys weight came down. Was looking forward to seeing a Cags and Fofana partnership.

He absolutely intended to cause serious harm. He has form for it, apparently.
Popular Post moore_94 Posted 4 August 2021 Popular Post Share Posted 4 August 2021 (edited) Just home from the game and that was absolutely horrific, you could tell instantly from the way he was pointing at it and shouting for help how bad it was, even able to see how bad it was from the stands The fact the ref didn't send Nino off or even tell Emery to get the player off the pitch is disgraceful as well Potentially season ruined for one of the best young players in world football all because some little scrote couldn't control himself Deserves a lengthy ban for what he did, but I would be surprised if we even get a half arsed apology statement.
