Paradoxically, the type of striker who'd be most useful in the creativity vacuum that is our team is probably the sort of physical target man that Rodgers has made it clear he would never use. They still wouldn't get any chances but at least they might provide the occasional layoff or win a header. Of the three on our books I reckon Iheanacho is stylistically the best fit for us at present so naturally he's the only one who never plays.

Not re-signing someone like Chris Wood this window (and instead Forest have of course signed the Kiwi), was a bit of an oversight re a much needed 'target man' in that Slimani mould! As you say though, not a Rodgers type player up front!

He struggles so much playing up top on his own. He needs someone to support him but that means a complete change in formation and play style that Rodgers will not look to do.

None of our forwards are really scoring. None of them are bad forwards. Therefore only a complete numpty wouldn't be able to see that a change in formation or tactics might just be worth a try?

Came with a big reputation and will leave with it in tatters.

The hype in Transfer Talk easily eclipsed Madueke , De Ketelaire and Tete. They just love a new toy over there don't they. Patson is a decent striker and can be lethal in a quick break team ( Leeds anybody) but he doesn't have the physical presence for our slow build up play.

Looks like he's massively overthinking. Misplaced passes, snatching at shots.

Could well be par for him but to be honest I see him doing striker stuff so rarely that I dont know. So happy to give the benefit of the doubt.

Either way, he needs to sort himself out mentally if that's the case because regardless of the reasons, its not acceptable for a Premier league striker to look so poor when passing or striking the ball.

We need a proper manager in ASAP.

I'm starting to think he won a reality TV series in Zambia where the prize was signing for a Premier League team.

To say he's dogshit is an insult to dogshit.

...he needs someone to sit down with him and properly talk him through what we need from him!!!

His game doe not suit how we play and his constant look to go down in the box does not help his game. He needs to stay on his feet irrespective of what happens, it becomes too easy to give up when going into contact.

Did he not win a penalty today?

When you are faced with a 6-4 CB who outweighs you by 40 lbs , staying on your feet is not so easy. Why is Haarland such a handful ? He is a big, powerful bloke , so are Kane, Benzema, Lewandowski etc.etc.

...CDK would have suited us as the striker upfront, hold-up play, target man, and very technical in possession!!!

Madueke was a find and would have been great for us, injuries and timing have cost us the opportunity. Tete as has been said is a true RW, his form for me has dropped and he is not showing what I had seen previously about a year ago.

Daka was out of the blue and I am not sure that I had taken a look on YouTube before or after he signed, but if I had viewed his show reel I would have said he would struggle to fit into our team. Not sure why the club would have wanted to replicate Vardy, due to the fact that he was more and more becoming isolated up front and why would you want another player to be a bystander in our games, struggling for any kind of decent service?
