I'm as excited about Daka as the next guy.  But half of FT is now dropping Vardy faster than Claude Puel.

This is the PL top scorers list

Let's enjoy our GOAT leading the line a little longer.  BR can continue to work Daka in more and more, without declaring him the regular starter

It's absolutely nuts! Top goalscoring striker in the league and people want him dropped. Madness.

Vardy is still clear. JV scores goals that Daka doesn't even attempt.

Vardy is more refined and will make the right decisions and cute finishes more often, but daka is more explosive and potentially creates more room for the rest of the team from that. Basically Daka is more similar in playstyle to 15/16 vardy in my opinion, chaotic but uncontainable, whereas vardy now can go missing a fair bit but has impact when it counts. What really excites me about Daka is that 5 or so years down the line he will hopefully have a mix of prime Vardy's athleticism and the game intelligence that vardy has currently, i always wonder what it would have been like if vardy's physical and mental prime had lined up.

He’s got a million mile to go to be compared to Vardy but he’s at least offering us the chance to rest the greatest of all time. I personally don’t think he’d score half the amount of goals the main man would score in the equivalent games but he’s a massive plus to help Jamie stay fresh.

I actually think he's more of a wide forward as he comes alive in those channels between the centre back and full back as seen from his assists today. Vardy plays far more on instinct whereas Daka is more measured in his approach as seen from his assists today. He actually reminds me of Sadio Mane and if he can get close to those levels, we've got one hell of a player.

Plenty of games for both, no need for the either/or mentality,  I do not think it’s wise to stunt Daka’s development by only starting Vardy, just as much as we don’t need to only start Daka at the cost of benching our top scorer. The time of sharing is here.  :scarf:

I don't think people are happy to see him dropped. They are happy that we have a like for like replacement that allows Vardy to rest and be phased out into his retirement or whatever without leaving a massive void. On top of that Daka has something else to his game which allows a change in approach and a plan B when things may not be working.

It's great to have both.

Yes, I thought that too actually. I wonder how a front 3 of Vardy, Iheanacho and Daka would fare? Pretty scary for the opposition I'd have thought!

Behind them if all fit how about:

Schmeichel

Ricardo Fofana Evans JJ

                 Ndidi

        Tielemans KDH (or Soumare

(admittedly, no room initially there for Maddison in that formation but for me, it's always been about putting your best team out rather than your best players).
