I can't see any Leicester player breaking through the England team for the world cup. I heard on the radio that England had around 30 players unavailable yet no Leicester player is in the conversation.

I think JJ might have a chance in the future, even with Southgate, because he can play several positions. Fitness can't be 100% just yet.

Vestergaard and Kasper combine in a defensive f.. up..... Vester didn´t clear and Kasper rooted to the line....... unsurprising actually. Made some good saves but does seem to create uncertainty in the back line because of his reluctance to dominate his "little" box

No chance he gets in at RB. That bastille is between Trent and James, then Lamptey or AWB would jump in 3rd. LB, Shaw and Chilwell are ahead, and clearly Mitchell is highly thought of, but if JJ improves his defending he could get himself that spot.

In other words, you are in COMPLETE AGREEMENT with him that JJ "might have a chance in the future" as "he can play several positions" lol

We could do with another full back …..

Particularly a right footed one that plays on the left....

AWB?

By picking Mitchell, Southgate made it clear he doesn't rate AWB.  You forgot Livramento who is picked ahead of KWPat rb for Southampton.

JJ's usp is although best at rb, he is quality at LB too.  England have two exceptional full backs, TAA and RJ.  Justin  has a chance.

This will get increasingly discombobulating.  When AWB is ignored I  favour of KWP because of in injury to TAA.  A lot on here think that KDH has superior qualities to JWP although he could clearly improve on set pieces.  DCL is off form currently meaning Kane can relax.

KDH would be our obvious competitor for JWP's spot but I actually think it's a spot that Madders can fight for.

If you look at the numbers, Maddison is way ahead with anything concerning going forward and interestingly enough, defensively, its only blocks and aerials that JWP is better at than Madders.

Just your standard article comparing Big Dan to Paolo Maldini…………

Ghanaian football fans have heaped praise on Black Stars defender Daniel Amartey for his showstopping performance against the Super Eagles.

A blameless Daniel Amartey marshalled the Ghanaian defence with unerring aptitude in their goalless draw at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium The Black Stars of Ghana were held to a goalless draw by their Nigerian counterparts in the first instalment of the World Cup play-offs Ghana and Leicester City defender was on the receiving end of ceaseless praise by football fans after his commendable performance for the Black Stars.

The 27-year-old central defender rarely put a foot wrong in an enthralling game between Ghana and Nigeria at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Prior to the game, most Ghanaian football followers were worried about the potency of the Nigerian attack, especially with the return of red-hot Napoli marksman Victor Osimhen and Watford talisman Emmanuel Dennis.

Despite the attack of Nigeria spearheaded by Osimhen, Amartey was able to hold the Super Eagles attack in check.

His defensive partnership with Strasbourg guardsman Alexander Djiku gave Ghanaians a nostalgic throwback of the famous Italian defensive pair Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Nesta.

First choice would be WKD.

The thing about Justin is that he is a great all rounder and can play at left back as well as on the right. Even in a three in the centre if needed. He also has great athleticism.  Trent is the best offensively and possibly AWB defensively but JJ can offer the best of all attributes. If he proves his fitness and form gets back to where he was pre injury then he will be knocking on the door.

in the future if they keep improving I could see barnes and KDH offering England something and Thomas playing well also in the under 21s. Overall the Leicester contingent will shine better if the team start to excel again.
