West Ham United 4-1 Leicester City - Post Match Thread

Some others have said it but think if you’re going to have a game like that, at least the timing isn’t bad with the window still open and an international break coming up. Hopefully a wake up call.

Had a lot to cheer the past few weeks but that game was like a highlights reel of the worst about this squad. Early days, let’s see how they react.

An absolute disaster from all involved.. Especially the manager and kaspers kicking.

If we don't sort it out we will get plenty more games like this. It was clear after 5 minutes the side was set up wrong. Brendan doesn't learn from his mistakes

Why haven't we bought players who are playing in the first 11? the first 11 needs improving and we haven't done that. The midfield is as weak as piss. When it gets tough they go missing. Obviously apart from wilf.

Pathetic all round. Shocking performances by almost everyone. Rodgers again with the absolute bizarre decisions and clueless negative football. Nobody comes out of that looking good.

Hope the players that started all need to urgently take a shit on the bus home at the same time.

West Ham were brilliant but we happily let them walk all over us.

Really really bad performance. We normally leave this for the end of the season. Every player looked lethargic and void of ideas. No real thought in movement. West Ham were also excellent. Going to put it down to a “it happens” performance.

Perez, however, I’m done with.

We played like we did when west ham beat us twice before, was another game with ping pongs between the defenders, on top of that the team also seemed very light weight getting bullied all over the pitch.

Lots of hard work needed and for the manager to rethink his approach to games.  Also needs to be willing to change things early when they not working, it feels like at times the substitutes are pre planned and is no reacting to whats happening in the game.

Horrible performance.

Only positive is it might encourage that extra spending in the window.

I know there were so many things wrong with that performance but they even got the basics wrong.

When in good crossing positions, drill the balls across the area so you increase that the chance of a deflection/defender making a mistake rather than floating the ball in. Also, we need a mix of zonal and man marking on set pieces. Get our strongest players in their air on the oppositions, supported by zonal marking

3 games vs West Ham 3 defeats, bullied every time, no attempt to change that tonight, bought soumare because he’s mix of youri/Ndidi and we played Maddison/perez/Barnes who between them could put muscle a fly.

rogers never learns this sort of thing and it winds me up massively!

As a side of vestergaards out long term we will genuinely be bottom half defending like that, if we’re lucky.

Thought it was a foul on Perez initially but can’t argue with the red after. It made no difference as we were crap before that anyway!

Norwich 100% win Saturday! Footballs back everyone :teehee:

West Ham were very good to be fair....we had no answer to the way they were set up....let's not read to much into it guys...its still early days and teams having a full stadium back makes a huge difference.

Is it really the defences fault that there is literally no movement in front of them?

Worse player on the pitch was Barnes followed by Vardy then Thomas, Youri (would have been higher but for his goal), then Cags and lastly Ndidi.....not even gonna mention Perez

At least results like this give the rest of us a chance to make sure  the Anti Rodgers brigade on Foxestalk is still all okay.

Not going to defend our performance too much though, we looked second best 11 vs 11 but then we looked hopeless against West Ham in both games last season, and we were still in the top 4 for almost every game.

We need to improve, but this one game is hardly going to define our season.

Maybe its a ploy by Rodgers to persuade Top we need to invest in a high quality winger and maybe someone else at the back.
