Good performance. Soyuncu did well, Lookman looked very promising. Johnny Evans is back. Ndidi was Immense. Just a bit unlucky when it mattered against a very good defence. Onto the next one.

How long are we going to persist with "Operation: Play Maddison until he finds some kind of form" Another 73 minutes wasted today. He offers nothing.

A much needed improvement in performance going into the single most critical game in our EL group.

Actually thought overall that was our best performance of our 4 games so far. Just frustrating with the manner of the goal we gave away.

We were better with Iheanacho and Lookman. I hope Rodgers notices that.

Such a frustrating game in the end. We played pretty well but didn't take our chances, we made one big costly mistake and they take away all 3 points.

 

Some takeaways:

- Iheanacho must start. He changes the game for the better every time he comes on.

- Maddison is totally off form and should be dropped. He was a bit better today, but ultimately a passenger again.

- Vestergaard was really impressive. His passing was really good apart from one mistake. He looks like a good signing.

- Lookman looked promising, probably fulfilling the Demarai Gray role of coming on against tired legs to make an impact. Possibly should have scored, but had a very positive performance.

 

Ultimately that mistake by Schmeichel in the build up to their goal cost us the match, but he made 2 or 3 outstanding saves to stop goals so perhaps it's unfair to single him out. The tactics weren't the issue today, probably not even the subs, though I feel the starting XI was a mistake because of Maddison's inclusion.

 

Think we deserved something from that game. Barnes had a free header and hit the cross bar. You are always taught to head it down!

Better performance for me than the 2 wins so far this season.

 

Unfortunate with the goal. A draw would have been a fair result. 

 

Much more positive though than the last few weeks.

Unlucky against a team who has won their last 2 game 5-0. 
We played really well in patches and everyone out there put a shift in.

Play like that all season and we’ll be back around the European places again.

Much better defensively, which perhaps isn't a surprise with a couple more experienced players back.

 

Still don't look together going forward, but we looked much brighter with Iheanacho and Lookman. Hopefully that'll come together shortly.

 

I think most reasonable fans probably expected 6 points from the first four games, and that's where we're at. Next few games will give us a better indication of where we're going.

Only managed to watch the second half but

 

- vestegaard looked Great

- why doesn’t Kelechi play more

- Youri’s pass completion must’ve been less than 50%

- Maddison is a complete waste of a shirt

One thing for certain is Ian needs to start ahead of Maddison. Looked so much better with him on the pitch. Vardy unlucky with his offside goal. Decent performance

Good performance generally but Maddison is killing us at the minute, so slow to release a pass whenever he gets the ball. Need a proper, long stint on the bench to show him he's not undropable. Kel needs to start every single game - he was last years top scorer and looks good whenever he gets minutes. Disgraceful that some utter muck player is getting in ahead of him at the minute.

Not sure Ihenacho can do it from the start of the match but did well in his cameo. Possibly worth starting instead of Maddison next match?

What do you do with out of form players.  Maddison and especially Barnes are star players.  Do you let them play themselves back into form or drop them?

 

In the case of Barnes, I'd play him.  He's a better player than Lookman and returning from serious injury.  Not sure what's going on with Maddison.

Expected result for me, all four so far have been so we're where I thought we would be points-wise.

 

Gave it a go but we do need to address the amount of players really not contributing currently. We have good options in the squad now.

We were a lot lot better today, passing was a lot more direct and brave. Shame it was a self-inflicted goal but it could have been a few more if it wasn’t for Kasper.

Ndidi excellent, Kel has to start next game in place of Maddison.

 

I’m still finding it weird we didn’t get that RW spot sorted, feel it’s gonna cost us a bit.
