Napoli (H) pre match - 16 Sep

Recommended Posts

I think we have to take the 2 games together to try to understand the difficulty Brendan has.

I don't know anything about Napoli but I expect them to be strong and organized at the back. So there's no point in going with just Vary up top.

I rate DW but I wouldn't leave out Kasper in the form he's in lately.

Kasper

Ricky  Evans Vestagard Bertrand

 Ndiddi and Youri

       Perez

Lookman Kelechi Barnes

Brighton game

Ward

Timmy Dan Soyuncu Thomas

Wilf and KDH or Soumare

         Maddison

Mark Daka Lookman

I don't see him making many changes for this, but with 5 subs hopefully he's got a plan to really take it to them in the final stages of the game.

My team would be:

Schmeichel

Ricardo

Vestergaard

Soyuncu

Bertrand

Ndidi

Tielemans

Lookman

Iheanacho

Barnes

Vardy

Swapping Daka for Vardy and I think this would give us a brilliant chance of winning.

If we assume that Brendan will want to play his ‘first team’ next Sunday then we know the following will not start on Thursday

Vardy,, Barnes, madders

so we might wonder who will deputise tor those

I can see daka for vards, kel/ayo for madders and lookman for Barnes.

the rest of the eleven will be interesting to see as we know Brendan doesn’t like wholesale changes and tends to trust a select group as starters

No Vardy in either game?

I’d sooner Madders start Thursday and Iheanacho start Sunday personally.

Reality is it’s probably easier to win the europa this season than finish in the top 4 so strongest 11 please.

Great poster name!!!!

(Hope its not aimed at me? Although you'd probably  be right!!!(

Napoli is going to be an interesting test of whether BR is going to take Europa seriously this time.  If he is, there’s not much point in resting anybody against Napoli.

We dont know the numbers on the players. Who has strains.  Castange has played how many games in the past two weeks?  there are others too. Brendan will have a plan for the squad based on what lies ahead over the next month.

On form, Napoli should be favored against us.  They’re perfect in the league and dominating opponents.  If you want to win the group this is close to a must-win game, draw at the very least.  There may be a plan to rotate players but you still rank your matches in terms of priority.  Who he starts will tell us a lot.

The issue is mate, is Brendan's preferred XI actually our best XI? Debatable, a few changes might be what we need to get back to top 6 form, seen this happen from us in Europe/cups before.
