Hate to say this but he’s better than Maddison currently and I can’t stand Lingard as a player. Agree completely with what @Finneganwrote about him on the first page on this thread.

 

Just shows how far Madders has dropped off and I think it’s largely to do with his injury. Shame.

I am wondering if an investment company could underwright a players value either for a fee or a share of any upside?

I do on generally agree with that Finnegan post, I was thinking more if he came up as an option on loan (he won't) I think he'd have been OK. I wouldn't be breaking the bank.

Lingard is appealing but would probably be stifled by our style of play and I don't think he would even consider coming here.

 

Add to that he is probably a major knobhead.

Would be happy if he signed for us but he wont. This feel like his agent getting the rumor-mill stirring in the last year of his contract. Not sure why WH didn't push all in for him over the summer but instead looked to Europe. He fits that more defend and break tactic of Moyes. He's a player who should have moved away from ManU years ago. He was never good enough to replicate their glory day players so was symptomatic of their stagnation but could have gone and really made a name for himself in the clubs just below the top 5.

Showed his technical weakness yesterday as he couldn't turn with the ball and create something by did a real s*** backpass.
