Little known things

About 11 years ago there used to be a right character who sat about 3 rows in front of me and to the other side of the stairs. His thing used to be to go mental at the lino no matter how clear cut the decision. He would be giving the willy puller sign to the lino convinced that he could see him (he sat about 3/4 to the back of the Kop). He would always wear a jacket that had “Stoke Golding” on the back and the fellas behind me (who also cottoned on to his antics) called him Stoke Golding. I never spoke to the fellas behind or Stoke Golding but would also watch him during the games as it was entertaining. Anyway he was there all throughout the Levein and Holloway years. However I don’t recall seeing him during or since the title winning season. His old man still goes though and I often wonder what happened to Stoke Golding and if he is ok. It sometimes makes me sad that he sat through all that dross and seemingly missed all of our recent success.

Perhaps he wears a different top now or he fell out with his Dad and sits somewhere else/

Circa 1999 I did an unflushable poop that blocked the toilets at Filbert Street. It’s haunted me ever since. Sorry everyone. X

That's why we had to move it's all your fault.

Before moving to Australia 11 years ago I was a regular in the Kop and we always seemed to get the worst linesman. Every bloody week.Don’t worry lads I let him know exactly what we all thought of him.

The football then was so bad even my lucky Steve Golding jacket couldn’t get us a win.

Anyway, I had this lad who used to sit about 3 rows behind me, he became a bit stalkerish and wouldn’t take his eyes off me all game.

So I packed it all in and moved to the other side of the world.

The lad sitting 3 rows behind you wasn't Spencer Prior was it? Coz he lives in Sydney now.

David Speedie's last moment in professional football was punching a Tranmere player (goalkeeper Eric Nixon?) in the play off semi 2nd leg and getting sent off. He was suspended for the final, injured the following season and we never saw him again. I think deep down he knew and just wanted one more scrap to go out on for old times sake :@

Hum.... not exactly how I remember it. There was a tackle on Speedie he went rolling around in the floor.  There was a mass melee Nixon came sprinting out his goal and  punched Speedie. Sent him flying.

Yep you're right, just watched the challenge back, a bad one then a second player catches him then all hell breaks loose. Certainly Nixon takes the opportunity to settle an old score rather than Speedie starting it.
