Subs were odd. Perez off at half time but had actually played really well, and Soumare off for Maddison was just stupid.

Problem with playing Evans and Vestergaard together is lack of pace - they got caught out lots of times in the first half.

Kasper was awful in his distribution though. How the hell he is so poor at it at his stage of career is beyond me.

I agree, but Oshimen was fantastic and would be a handful for anyone, and Soyuncu may be quicker but is more prone to errors at the moment. We basically miss Fofana.

They're a much better side than us. Could easily win Serie A this season. 

 

Take the draw and move and see how it looks going in to game 6.

I didn't say there wasn't a worrying pattern. I said it's ridiculous to write off the season after 5 games. Not sure why he responded in the way he did. I didn't say things were great did I?

Vestergaard was very poor tonight, awful for their first goal and nowhere near their most dangerous player Osimhen for his headed goal, surely he should have been marking him ffs.

I ponder if today’s performance provided a summary of our season so far - in that as individuals we have a very good side, but it’s not quite together as a team yet.

 

And maybe this shouldn’t be a surprise to any of us.

 

A horrendous injury list, new signings, a shortened and disrupted pre-season following the World Cup and that tricky question if do you start the season with the system we finished with or do we go back to what we had done well with prior to that are all contributing factors in a game of fine margins.

 

So maybe it will take us a while to hit our stride this season… and with the issues mentioned it might be sensible if we as fans temper our expectations for this season, top 4 was always going to be a tall ask this year anyway… but give it time I think we will grow into something special and blossom towards the business end, so long as we can stick things out in the interim.
