I've thought before that given Perez doesn't actually really play as a winger, Maddison could quite comfortably perform the role he does. As a narrow attacking midfielder, he's better on the ball than Perez is. Ricardo will provide the width and danger outside him and that's fine. Maddison as an actual winger is a horror show but that's not really what this will be. He'll need to work harder defensively, Perez defensive contribution isn't world class but it is under rated on here. If we'd stuck to a 4231 I'd be annoyed if Iheanacho wasn't at 10 given how good he was against Napoli but if its a 433 a la first half 19/20, Madders IS a better fit there. If Foxestalk didn't have a collective hate bone for Madders atm then nobody would really be denying that. Probably because he only fits in a formation that hinders us, yeah it got the best out of him but we are more fluid as a team like this.
