I think it's a terrible injustice that Kel isn't starting, but at least Perez and Maddison aren't either and Lookman is getting a look, Man.

Tanya Posted 25 September 2021 Share Posted 25 September 2021 I'd love to see Nacho for Soumare but other than that, can't complain. Probably wise to have Evans on the bench. C'mon lads.

Brendan clearly sees him as a striker even if he can drop deeper in the 10 role and is reluctant to play 2 strikers when we are playing a back 4.. Most people wanted rid of 3/5 at the back, which unfortunately means Kelechi is sacrificed to start most games and be a good impact sub..

Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 25 September 2021 Share Posted 25 September 2021 Still think Thomas is better than Bertrand.
adejo92 Posted 25 September 2021 Share Posted 25 September 2021 I'm very happy with that line up, Lookman has definitely earned his start. A little gutted for Nacho, not really much more he can do to get himself starting. Hopefully we start well and get that first goal. Going a goal down to these will make for a very frustrating and boring remainder of the game.
kingfox Posted 25 September 2021 Share Posted 25 September 2021 That would be the perfect line up for Man City away. Burnley at home though

On paper the difference is that Maddison is far more reliable on the ball with his back to goal in that #10 position and allows us to keep it and remain balanced. However the game isn’t played on paper and he’s been utter shite this season so May as well play Kelechi!
Switzfox Posted 25 September 2021 Share Posted 25 September 2021 I'm happy with this line up. We have plenty of pace, a start for Lookman. Nacho to save the day if needed.

Id be far more worried about us not being able to break them down for 90mins with 3 central midfielders none of whom are attack minded - rather than the 5-10 set piece opportunity they’ll have throughout the game. Guest Danny Clender Posted 25 September 2021 Share Posted 25 September 2021 Hopefully a little careful discipline from Soumare can cement his position. nice starting line up.

Sol thewall Bamba Posted 25 September 2021 Share Posted 25 September 2021 More like it. If we could somehow fit SeniorMan in there as well we'd be pretty much as good as we can be at the moment without JJ and Wesley.
