Time wasting

When are they going to do something about this? I hate it when we do it, I’d be more than happy to see Schmeichel booked and then sent off he carries on with it to get it out of the game. That today was disgusting and they get away, there’s absolutely no punishment, the time doesn’t get added on and they don’t even get booked for it.

Time wasting is frustrating but if you cant win inside 90 mins you cant complain to much.

if you get yourself in front twice then you give yourself the opportunity to manage the game - time wasting is part of that. You may not like it but it’s professional football with huge rewards - we need to be way cuter in that regard. Controlling the tempo of a game when ahead …

There are several painfully obvious and easily fixable things about the game and this is certainly one of them. I understand that the running clock is a really hard coded part of things - but this isn’t 1890 and we don’t need to count time by how quickly the sheep eat the grass in the adjacent pasture - we have things called clocks. 
 

- stop the clock for injuries

- stop the clock for subs

- have a “shot clock” for throw ins, free kicks, goal kicks and corners. Make it whatever you want. 6 seconds, 10 seconds etc. if the ball isn’t put in play by the time the clock hits zero - it’s a yellow card. 
 

these changes would make the game somewhere between 1000-10000000% better

There is a massive difference between slowing a game down and time wasting what their injured player did by coming off and on the pitch is time wasting other than that i'm struggling to see where the 6 mins of added time across the 2 halves comes from by all means go back and watch it with a stop watch but from memory i think the stoppage time was fair.

I know it was first half, but Cornet kicking the ball out, then coming back onto the pitch and THEN going down injured was laughable.

 

Ref should have told him to get off straight away.

 

And refs should count to six with their hands up to stop the 6 seconds a goalie should handle it turning into 50 seconds.

It was from about the 25th minute today too. Unless the ref decides to attempt to control it then teams will do it.

The ref absolutely ruined the game today, there was a couple of small mistakes but nothing major, but the biggest thing was him being soft as shit and not stamping down on the time wasting early on! What's the point in booking a player for it in the last 5 minutes, job is already done

I don't disagree, because it's allowed in the rules at the moment and we'd be stupid not to take advantage of it. For as long as it's a tool that can be used, I'd want us to use the tool to our advantage.

 

My point is that no team should be able to benefit from it because it makes football a less enjoyable sport to watch than it could be, and it allows poorer teams to succeed against better teams by means that have nothing to do with their ability as a footballing outfit.

 

If a team takes the sting out of a game with good passing and keeping the ball, fair play. This is not that.

Yes because you can get away with it, so it’s in your interests to do it. The point is that nobody should be able to get away with it whether it’s us, Burnley or whoever.

I can't stand time wasting and my pet hate is players stopping free kicks and throw ins by throwing the ball away! 😡 maybe it's because we are too nice and don't do it 😆  it needs to be punished though

Simple change the game time to ball in play time.

 

Have an independent time keeper.

 

Or just have a ref that can control the game.
