The rich owners may no longer be in charge but down the line not much is going to change. At this moment the endorsements will still be in place and the same clubs will have the upper hand and we may feel a sense of morality has been re-in stored to the game, but people will be looking at ways of advancing their own entity, in any way they can.

 

Yeah but that's just the bigger clubs attracting more revenue as has always been the case as they have more fans, greater global appeal, etc, etc. There has never been and never will be a level playing field as better supported clubs for example will always yield more revenue, which allows them to buy better players, win more trophies, etc. The status quo would take a few years to deteriorate of course but it eventually would, Man City for example would eventually have to live within their means if they struggle to fill their stadium week on week.

 

The difference with the above and now is we have an artificial playing field. An oligarch can simply rock up, take any club, for example a traditionally mediocre club like Man City, chuck billions at them and all of a sudden they are a major force. That's not healthy whereas organic competition as described above is.
