wouldn't surprise me if one was included in the new stand when its built or one created in the existing corporate boxes if they are moved to the new stand.

I’m pretty sure I read one was being included as part of the new stand

No objection to a sensory room, and fully support the idea. I will say, my 11-year-old son suffers from mild autism, and truly hated the noise from the match (he doesn't much like football in any event.) I picked up some noise defender earphones, and they work like a charm. He just sits there reading a book and asks me what the score was when it's over.

Would love for us to have one so i can take my boy. His neurological condition means he cant cope with loud noises and all i want to do is be able to take him to the football with me.

I took him to an U23s game couple of years ago. He struggled with just the normal stadium noise. Then Harvey Barnes scored in like the 88th minute and the cheers sent him crazy.

I thought about you when I first saw this thread mate. That would be amazing - let's hope it happens sooner the better!

As the father of an Autistic boy i fully support this. Fortunately for me my son likes sitting in the kop and singing ' Gerrin to um and f**k em up'. :D

My four-year-old son is very likely on the spectrum (we haven't had a formal diagnosis yet). So far, he seems to be fine with crowds and loud noises so I'm hopeful we'll be able to sit together in the stands when he's a bit older, but it's great to know that there will be an option for us if he can't cope with that.

In the same position, but my son has just turned 3. PM me if you need any support. Or anyone for that matter on this subject..

Thanks - much appreciated. We first became aware of our son's additional needs about a year ago, when - like your son - he was three. I may well drop you a line at some point. Likewise, feel free to do the same...

I came across this heart warming thread on Twitter below.   A father took his autistic son to a game for a first time despite some misgivings.  The son were overwhelmed so they had to leave however they were stopped by a steward who led them to a sensory room for autistic fans to watch matches in.

I thought it was a fantastic concept- it turned out along with Arsenal, several clubs (Sunderland, Newcastle, Man City, Watford, Villa and randomly Airdrie) have them too.  I was wondering whether if Leicester has a sensory room and if not then we should campaign for them to install one.   There is a specialist company who was behind the first installation in Sunderland and have installed several others since then so procurement wouldn't be an issue.

Nice one posting a about this.

Great that the club's already onto it.

My son has quite a severe form of autism and does NOT like loud noises. Not only that, he can’t stand anything touching his ears so any type of ear plugs or headphones are not an option for him- I’d be absolutely well up for this when it’s built. Which dad doesn’t want to go to a game with his son?

incidentally, Heathrow airport has its own sensory room.  My son can’t cope with just waiting around either so when our flight was delayed and we were told about the sensory room I felt like it saved our lives. He loved the plane though as he had his own private little space and his own tv lol

Which terminal is this room in? I'm flying in the spring with the family and this would be useful, I'm going Club Europe so already have a lounge but not sure he will even like this.

Thanks

the one we used was in terminal 2 This was a couple of years ago and they did have plans to put one in each terminal but I don’t know if COVID interfered with that.

do you know about the sunflower lanyard they offer? Your loved one wears it and It’s like a sign wherever you go in the airport to the staff that  their interaction with that person might need to be softer/ gentler. It also got us to the front of the security line which was a godsend as queues are definitely something my son struggles with.
