Stadium Expansion *APPROVED* Sept ‘22 - Details / Images Released on Planning Site

Cost of borrowing is far too high at present, import costs have increased due to the stuff with Israel and shipping avoiding the Suez canal. As well as steel costs increasing due to the war in Ukraine. As much as we're all gagging for a stadium expansion, doing it now would cripple us. I think next year will see a development and an acceleration in plans. So many external factors at play currently make it unfeasible

Why would it cripple us?

Apparently KP have tonnes of money they want to waste on us and its only PSR regs that have put us in the position were in? :D

Meanwhile...Luton's new ground will look pretty sweet

Looks like a mini ibrox with corners filled from that.

Plus the addition to that thing above the roof 🤦‍♂️

I'd imagine it's mainly down to increased costs although delaying it will only add to the cost.

If you take the NI Casement Park development

With every month that passed, the potential construction bill went up and up as the cost of building materials rose rapidly.

All of a sudden, the original price tag of £77.5m would hardly pay for one of the grandstands.

The UK government now estimates the potential cost will be more than £400m.

Haven't they been planning this since like 2019

Yeah its finally happening.

Right next to a church, which you'd think would be a major obstacle, but the church has welcomed it apparantly.

Even those @@@@@ up the road looking to expand to 50000 whilst we still prevaricate about the bush

what the fvck

we should be light years ahead of them by now

We have just employed a manager they sacked, we are going backwards and have been for years, under Enzo it at least felt like we getting back on track.

What's any of that got to do with the stadium?

This is bang on tbh. Unless you're one of the mega clubs (and Everton, seemingly ) you're never more than one bad season from getting relegated.

How much more stable did we need to be than nine consecutive seasons, a title win, two fifth place finishes and hundreds of millions spent on players? It might not get better than that, based on current trajectory.

Spot on👍🏻

You're probably right, and other than starting again with a new stadium, I think most extensions will look a bit like a tack on with the way our stadium is designed. It just looks a bit cheap and tacky in my opinion. That bubble design only seems to work when fully wrapped around the stadium, like the Allianz arena.

Hopefully, it looks better in person when finished. I do like the rest of the redevelopment around the ground though.

Make it like the stadium of light or Celtic and stick a tier all the way round, said it before should be 45,000 minimum

It wouldn’t look bad if they did the same with the west stand and mirrored the bubble, but I’m not sure if the west stand can be developed or not.Thoughts anyone??

I personally would prefer it similar to Juve’s ground with a second tier on the north, South and East stands.

Leave the main stand as it is for now.

Any stand can be done. But iirc work was done on the other three stands to make it easier/cheaper. Built originally to expand the other three sides.
