Stadium Expansion *APPROVED* Sept ‘22 - Details / Images Released on Planning Site

Recommended Posts

I thought they had planning permission to demolish the building in the car park and start the ground works which they don't seem to be doing. Makes me think it's a bit of a serious  problem considering they won't do any of the development if the whole lot doesn't get approved.

As we know, it's a huge development and the timescales were probably ambitious. The good news is the decision target/consultation date has extended rather than the application being rejected.

Keith Vaz will deliver.  That is why he gets a freebie every home game.  If we beat Rennes and draw a team from Eastern Europe, the decision will be nodded thru very quickly.

Is it built yet?

Yes, but the architect is a bit of a perfectionist. One of the new seats was a slightly lighter shade of blue so in a fit of diva rage he through an almighty tantrum, ripped it all down before repeatedly shouted merde in an high pitched voice and jumped in the river, never to be seen again.

Just hope our stadium expansion gets built before Forest’s. I believe Forest are at the same stage as us in waiting for the Planners to pull their finger out. Funny thing is Forest have marketed their stadium expansion as stating The City Ground will be the largest stadium in the East Midlands when their stadium expansion is complete at 38,000. Just hope we nail them and complete our 40,000 stadium expansion first so Le Shitty Ground never holds that title ever again

Let them complete it a week before ours.

Then they can spend the following 40 years slobbering about how they had the biggest ground blah blah blah

Considering the UK is about to win the Euro 2028 bid, Leicester is in contention for games due to spreading games across the country.

It would be nice to host some games so biggest and most corporate ground in the East Midlands would be important.

I'd take premier league and european football over having a few thousand extra seats than a championship club that's near us geographically but still miles away in other ever measurement other than a lucky cup win over us because our players weren't up for it enough and gifted them every one of their goals.

No way are Forest going to expand their ground in the Championship.

Building anything in this country can be ruinously expensive and Covid, inflation and the war in Ukraine are only going to make this worse.

Where are they going to get they money?

Frankly, where are we going to get the money? Still not been clarified…
