Stadium Expansion *APPROVED* Sept ‘22 - Details / Images Released on Planning Site

We can't even sell out for Chelsea at home in the Premier Leaguelol and people think a stadium expansion is a good idea. Might've been a good idea when we were finishing top 5 and winning Fa cups but as usual clubs complacency has caught up to them on and off the pitch.

It is sold out in that there are no empty seats available tomorrow.

These tickets are resale tickets of fans that want to sell their tickets tomorrow.

If they don't sell then the tickets are still available to use for the person that has them.

40/45K capacity for the size of our city and county is not a bad idea.

This plan has been on the cards for years and as anyone knows when you are dealing with planning issues Council don't act very quickly.

The land along Raw Dykes Road has been acquired and none of this would have happened if the Club thought it was going to be a white elephant.

They would. Its not a free sale as such. You would still have named tickets etc.

Its the cash aspect they want, shift the memberships.

...not sure I understand this reply!!!

If they made membership £20 per season,  you can still have the data on the supporters  as well as revenue from supporters who at this moment would have paid upfront and not get the opportunity to attend.

They don’t want a general sale as thats a £30 transaction to an away club. Not letting it get there means Leicester get £35 or whatever a membership fee is then the £30 to the away team.

When I was looking at updates on Skyscrapercity, someone has posted some concepts created by a service company for construction company Laing O'Rourke (must be one of the companies putting to tender).

Absolutely stunning renders. I can't wait for this to be built.

It will get canned. Don’t compare us to Fulham and other clubs who have carried on extending, remember this isn’t just a new stand, it’s a major restructure and expansion of the area surrounding the stadium.

@Babylon seems to knows what the craic is with this…… has the loan already been taken out for this? If so, if the project gets canned what happens to that loan?

What where we planning for again? 33% expansion.

Given the boards inactivity and cries for change they can expect a 33% drop in attendance given what they have presided over.

Should make it easier to build they could close the   East Stand for the season.

It won’t get canned; long term investments don’t rely on short term events

They do if you can’t fund it. If we couldn’t afford to invest into the squad in the summer, what makes us think we can handle relegation, and juggle this massive project at the same time?

How is it a vanity project lol lol

We aren't a 40k + club the whole investment is a vanity project,  23k average next year in the championship,  we are Leicester City We go up We go down but what we are never going to be is a team followed by a load of plastic fans

In the Premier League, we would sell near to 40k for the majority of matches. With FFP we need to increase revenues to try and keep competing at a higher level. A ‘vanity project’ is certainly a strange take on it.

I think the expansion will go ahead regardless of what league we are in.

It’s not a case of can’t afford it’s mostly down to FPP and it’s a completely different cash source. It’ll be whether KP can afford and want to build it as a large proportion of the project has little to do directly with the football.

Perfect time to build it whilst we are in the championship. Given how may have said “I’m done” there should be no problem juggling seats around whilst work goes on. 👍. If we have the right manager, the right funding and rhe right vision, then we can be back in the PL in a short space with a shiny new stadium and all those “I’m doners” struggling to regain access as all the new day trippers have replaced them. Excellent 🥂

Sadly, an appointment like Marsch and it could all turn to rat-shit rapidly. If ever there was a time for some leadership, it’s now.
