If they don’t want BR because Leicester have dropped off in form then why would they want the man that failed to win the French league with PSG?

Trendier and they've had an infatuation with him for years now. Imagine appointing a failed ex Liverpool manager who's currently nose diving his Leicester team off the scale?

Times Up! He’s been brilliant for us and even under Pearson we were prone to really lengthy runs of poor form. Like others it’s the multitude of weaknesses that the side have that he hasn’t addressed. A great coach and man manager, one of the very best and he would do well with an even more talented crop of players. Tactically he is left wanting and we have been totally worked out now. We know he’s going and the players know he is going.

This is lazy and I expect better from anyone who watches us each week.

We haven’t been found out tactically (aside from the near post run on set pieces, grrr). The issue is that we haven’t worked out our own damn tactics— other teams just play their same old game against us.

We were playing an exciting and effective 4-1-4-1 and, once we were forced into changing that because of injuries, we’ve been stuck in an endless cycle of systems changes.

We been hampered by injuries and losing Fofana and Justin to long term injuries is a blow however when I look at the players still available there is no reason we cannot play 4-1-4-1 formation that worked so well in his early days. The return of Evans offers the opportunity to play together with Cags and this partnership overall was excellent. Team I would like to see is

Kasper

Ricardo or Castagne

Castagne or Thomas

Evans

Cags

Ndidi

Lookman or Perez

Soumare

Maddison

Barnes

Vardy

we would have some very good options on the bench if we need to freshen things up or if we needed to make tactical tweaks but for me the above is our best option for the forthcoming weeks to push on and get some positive results and momentum. That is a strong side and not one that should be languishing in the bottom half of the table

whether it is 442 or 3241 or 4-1-4-1 doesn't make any difference if you can not hold the ball & string a few passes

Interesting stat on the BBC talking about Man Utd's woes...

'Of all the teams in the Premier League, only Leicester City fare worse for failed passes in their own half,....'

Do you think Ranieri deserved more time?

No he was taking us down like a lead balloon, urgent intervention was needed.

Not quite the same scenario currently, we're drastically underperforming but Rodgers is not presently in the relegation zone, or hovering just outside it, which is where I think we'd need to be before Top took any action. While we are mid table he'll be given the chance to turn it around and he's earned that right with past performance.

I generalised but to be more specific the first issue arose quite early in Rogers tenure which was the fact we were so poor in an attacking sense from corners. We get a huge amount but are ineffective, wing play often results in a speculative ball across the box which results in a corner which we do nothing with.

Then the issue of defending set pieces became an issue possibly due to the way we use zonal marking, so often we give away free headers because nobody seems to know where they should be, the smallest man on the pitch in the Chelsea game (Kante) got a free header and only didn’t score due to his own team mate getting in the way.

Then you can add to the issues our poor ability to pass the ball when pressed, the same could be said of any side but we look particularly weak in defence, you might argue it’s because of injuries but the likes of Evans and Soyuncu are supposed 1st teamers and they look really shaky. They also make terrible passes because the opposition can dominate our midfield cutting out opportunities to pass forward.

This obsession with out from the back is also a weakness with players who are uncomfortable doing so. None of these issues have got better, they have got worse and opposition teams have well and truly know how to set up against us.

Rogers is a great coach and if he went to Man U he would have an instant impact with a vastly superior squad. He might even have a good run at the league next season. For us he is done, he knows it and the players certainly do.

...but he wants to leave..!!!

If Man Utd are genuinely interested I’m sure Brendan wants to leave (regardless of the hullabaloo about the meeting giving players his reassurances) but it’s not as simple as that is it.

They’ll still need to buy whomever out their contract - would be interesting to know what Poch’s release clause is or either of them would have to resign - not sure what the knock on effects of that are regarding loyalty bonuses/do they have to buy themselves out their contract - genuinely not sure how it works.
