Atmosphere at the KP

Recommended Posts

Tonight was fun for all the wrong reasons. More the absurdity of being in seeming solidarity with a Norwich away end that gave zero shits and was game for a laugh than anything memorable in terms of atmosphere. lol

Good on the Norwich fans.

Had a good time, didnt take it too seriously and enjoyed it.

Mind you its alot easier when your already relegated but still, hats off!

It was a morgue in general today, truly abysmal. ALOT of empty seats too, gotta be the lowest attendance  of the season by far.

Could well be the lowest for a league game since we came up.

Norwich fans, fair play, had a good time. Enjoyed the Tequila song, that was one I thought off for Fofana but couldn't see it work. However, I liked the way Norwich did it. Quite unique.

Also enjoyed the sarcastic cheers when we cleared a corner!

Otherwise usual dross bar the same people.

There was in the first half a pretty decent good few minutes of ring of fire from the back of SK1. It was particularly punchy and possibly sounded louder as no other block joined in. Very interesting seeing heads turn around in either approval or bewilderment.

The stewards still being overkill in SK1 though.

Even started on the stairwell in the Kop entrance to sk1 this week not just the last one in the east stand that you guys use.

Their fans were great. Ours improved second half and some of the kids were shouting at full pelt which is always a positive.

Just like BR has coached the aggression out of the players the club will quash the enthusiasm of these young lads.

Positive post for the day

Just wanted to say that the atmosphere yesterday was great. The crowd was amazing during Birches' run (our section went nuts when we saw Ndidi), and at the start of the game is was loud where we were (near SK1). I saw more people singing that usual. Things got a little quiet in the first half, but the second half was an absolute blast! And the singing during the players parade was brilliant.

This is the first season we've been to games, and yesterday was a real highlight. Long drive home was a happy one!

Roll on the singing section next year!

If it is an "offence" to persistently stand how come those in SK1 and elsewhere get away with it? Or is this considered safe standing?

It's not an offence, it's against ground regulations, that aren't enforced.

As and when there's a rail seating section then that would be considered "safe standing".

Agree. Loudest I’ve heard it all season. Brilliant and positive atmosphere yesterday.

Law says stadiums in the top two divisions have to be all seater.

Theirs no legislation about what people can or can’t do in their seats ( apart from drinking)

It's the same in L1.

Fans know that the top 20 odd rows stand up. Stewards cant enforce it, how can they?

If you get a ticket in there you KNOW you are standing. You either take it or move elsewhere.

P.S the atmosphere  was great yesterday  but I think alot of that was because  it was a dead rubber and last game  and we just had a laugh no matter what.

Good day though.

Like others have said it is not an 'offence'

Go to any ground up and down the country and you'll find pockets of fans that persistently stand.

The problem is if the club decided to force the ground regulations and evicted all persistent standers the atmosphere would be beyond dead.

‘Safe’ Standing is making and taking the necessary safety alternations isn’t this then acknowledging that until such structural changes occur standing is unsafe?

The club currently would be taken to the compo cleaners if some ZZ row fat lad rolls forward causing a SK1 singing tsunami 🌊

Absolutely. It will get to the point in the next few years that not providing an appropriate rail seating area based on the level of assessed standing at your ground (each ground has an agreed "quota" of standing fans as agreed with the SGSA), will be considered negligent.

We were all stood at the top of K1 too. Enjoyable experience, even if there was audible booing of the knee and the somewhat gratuitous blast of the National Anthem...

Who stood you all there
