Man City 6- Leicester 3 post match thread.

Recommended Posts

I think Liverpool will properly spank us as they're a lot more high tempo than Man City.  Poor players plus lack of rest should see us ran over like a steam train to be fair.

Good to see some heart from the lads today though, had absolutely no expectations going into today and a fair few of those players can come out with their heads held high.

Whatever the issues with this team, with set pieces the biggest problem, they show guts and resilience. Sounds like we gifted four goals to Man City today, but we kept going. Our pace and creativity is our strength, and we're a threat against any team.

Looked like we'd made improvements in recent games but the enforced changes in personnel defensively meant it was disorganised again. Please get a set piece coach in January!

Hopefully we play the diamond on Tuesday that worked well, with Kelechi alongside Vardy, and the same midfield as against Liverpool.

As poor as Tielemans was, he should not have been brought off after we came back to 4-3. Hamza clearly would not do much more than Tielemans. I was hoping we bring Vardy on and throw everything at Man C.

At the end, we conceded from 4 set pieces: two poor penalties; two corners. The others were poor defensive lapses.

That Fofana injury has seriously stuffed our season up. At the least we would not have gotten Vestergaard.  Sue Villarreal!!

After going 3 at the back...

Nacho 1 goal, 2 assists.

Might not be everyone’s favourite formation, but Nacho continues to be a beast in that system.

Shame Ederson's head denied him a second...

If we'd pull them back to 5-4 that late, we might have gotten something out of it.

Another great example that epitomes the season

Going forward, we look slick. Maddison really put himself in the shop window today by playing really well in a rubbish team

But defensively…. A back four of Amartey, Vestergaard, Thomas and Albrighton is championship standard

And they had zero protection in front of them

The reality is that Man City scored four and just switched off. It was like a practice match for them.

As soon as we started scoring, they upped a gear and tried again

If they’d have REALLY wanted to, they’d have got 8 or 9 today I think

it went 5-3 before we took him off, so a choice of running him into the ground further after he's just comeback from injury or giving him 20 mins off to recover for the scousers
