Who do you want January 2022

...it really depends where Tarkowski wants to go!!!

I would suppose this will be his last transfer and a chance to pocket a great deal of cash and with Newcastle being in the North, there is a likelihood that he stays up there.

I always felt that he was destined to come here on a free though.

Newcastle and Burnley might both be in the North, but Leicester's about the same distance from Burnley as Newcastle is. Can't see that being a reason to choose them. The wages might be, though!

If getting a CB is not looking likely, I think it would be good to bring in some experience to help guide the players and set the example while the likes of Vardy and Evans are out injured. We had I think 9 players starting yesterday at 25 years of age or younger.

Ramsey might be an option, although his wages will be huge.

I reckon we don't bother. Seasons done effectively. We will have enough for a cup run. Finish 10th and escape the European shit that our squad can't handle. Have a other run at top 4 next season and a good summer

A review of the defensive coaching set up and a few courses on injury management and prevention for the medical staff are more important than buying another reserve central defender.

Would love to sign Lamptey from Brighton. He has been quality ever since breaking into their side. The lad has huge potential!

...all about timing!!!

When he broke through we had Ricardo and even JJ available for that position, no one was envisioning Ricardo ever leaving or the problems he would encounter with injuries.

He would be far too expensive now and I wonder how much was paid to acquire him.

Don’t  know why we even have this open we knew from the outset , that no one was coming in . And we want to be a top four team , now that’s a joke .

So that we get to read your pearls of wisdom every so often.

Not saying he's a long term option....

Liam Moore has been told by Reading to stay away from the club because he doesn't want to sign a new contract.

6 month loan for centre back cover and a player who would count as club trained for Europe surely wouldn't be a bad idea?

As previously said earlier in the thread, there are many reasons why a loan move for Liam to us, for the rest of the season, make perfect sense;

He still lives in the area

He would be relatively inexpensive

He still has a yard of pace (as per Brendan's requirement)

When Fofana is back, we would have 5 CB options, and Liam can also play right back, or in a three so we can has Marc in at RWB (we're short of right backs)

He's 'home grown'

He's got international caps and has been a captain, since he left us

He supports LCFC and has Leicester at heart

He's not wanted by Reading

He counts as another academy product

For all these reasons of perfect sense, it definitely wont happen !

Other than he’s not good enough really. Though neither is vestergaard and Ryan Bennett certainly wasn’t.

Problem is, if you have zero money to invest, in any given window, and like us, there is potentially loads of games still to play, and the injury list is massive, in terms of centre back options (which btw, is a list that will only get bigger!) then you have to have the foresight to recruit within your means. Yes, he's not up to our standard, but he is better than Vestergaard and Bennett, and we need to have some sort of coherent plan. Plus, I can't stand playing square pegs in round holes. We need a centre back!

It wouldn’t be a bad idea if he was good enough which he isn’t

We’re going to have an exodus in the summer..

especially when it seems we don’t have any money to buy a CB that is so obviously needed..

our ambition as a club seems to be wilting a little

....we will have funds to recruit, if Fofana does not come back anywhere near and we need one, we will get one!!!

There are quality out there, we do not need to pay £35m for a CB, we will bring in what we need.

Economic climate / owners business means tightening of belts until the Summer is my guess, plus buying another CB would have been tough in the winter market, best to keep our powder dry until Summer.  With JJ back, lil’ Wes in Feb, maybe it was the right choice :dunno:
