LCFC 1-0 Liverpool - Post Match Thread

What a game! The heart and effort was second to none today. Really felt those lads felt like they had a point to prove. Gave absolutely everything and we can be but only proud! As like many others walking upto the stadium I thought we were in for a tonking! Loved to be proven wrong!

Amazing night.

Great atmosphere.

Great team performance considering most of us thought its be a rout.

Just goes to say, Give the fans something  and we WILL get behind you.

Love it and love KDH!!!!

Barnes will have to move to the right wing when he's fit to play.

Lookman plays with so much more confidence when starting on the left.

Barnes is one of our best players when on somg and consistently showed it before injury. Moving him to the other side would be the wrong move.

We need a RW and rotate Barnes and Lookman on the left.

Was dreading going to this. Expected a heavy defeat but just wanted to see some fight after the cup defeat, a bit of fire in the belly. Wow we got that in spades. Outstanding, all of them.

Totally agree. Sometimes you wonder why you invest so much emotion then bang! Marvellous.

Me too, still can’t believe it. Pen save was crucial

This just shows that for all the background noise about set pieces, formations and personnel that the real ingredient missing from our team this season has been application.

That basic requirement to run and fight for 90 minutes has just not really happened this season. It might be naive but fans expect it every game - and the question should be - why don’t we get it every game?

I suspect it isn't that simple.

I was speaking to a friend who works in sports media the other week, and this is not uncommon in the modern game. A few players stop getting on and it feeds into the team and then performences. I think its possible its been difficult to bed the new lads into the dressing room and very possible that morgan and fuchs have been missed around the place. We have seen some very lacklustre performances early doors in all comps.

its a young team and a huge amount relies now on Vardy and Kasper to lead a very young group. It was interesting tonight a older figure amartey was barking orders, which is good to see.

It's probably a bit demoralising conceding from virtually every other corner. We defended 12 today - largely thanks to a change in tactics. That is not insignificant.
