LCFC 1-0 Liverpool - Post Match Thread

Recommended Posts

That was as good as it gets. Sweet and swift revenge for Ricardo and last week’s cup defeat with half a team against virtually their best XI. A Salah penalty miss. A raucous crowd. A brilliant winning goal. And the Schadenfreude of seeing that arch hypocrite Jurgen Klopp not just defeated but well and truly humbled.

Well, wasn't that excellent!

Certainly got adrenaline pumping that hasn't whilst watching Leicester for a while!

Incredible what happens when you attacking, playing with a purpose, with some grit, fight and determination isn't it!!

Playing to our players strengths! A joy to see, it really is!

So, so good!

Something I can finally get behind! Let's just continue with it, please!!

Really enjoyed it, the attacking, the purpose, the atmosphere and that's something i've struggled to say for 12 months.

As for injuries, what injuries, that's better than when we've played with first choices for during the last 12 months!

Barnes will have to move to the right wing when he's fit to play.

Lookman plays with so much more confidence when starting on the left.

Lookman was brought in for precisely this purpose - cover for Barnes, supposedly also having the benefit of being a versatile player. But we were never going to get the best out of him anywhere other than as an inverted left winger. You could immediately see the difference and the confidence playing in his preferential role. That's where he's supposed to be.

Oh and also, Scouse tears, so tasty!

What a load of scumbags they are, kicking off outside the ground at the end.

Chips on their shoulders, the lot of them.

Yeah but don't forget the 95 killed at Hillsborough. We'll never (be allowed to) forget that. Nor should we, really, but it goes on and on

Sorry, posted in poor judgement.

Barnes as good as he is could learn a few things from Lookman.

His defensive play winning free kicks second half was superb.

can I add a word for Hamza

utterly immense for 55 minutes tonight

threw himself into so many tackles, why has he not been involved is beyond me its a huge shame

...the formation suited him tonight, he did what we wanted from him!!!

This performance does not happen with the team all free from injury. Rodgers seems to be able to pull things together in adversity as the mentality of the players he had to draft in will run through brick walls for him. He does not get this from his first choices, they no longer respond in the same way and Rodgers would not be adopting these tactics.

KDH making one hell of a difference at the moment, he is already a first name on a sheet player, Thomas keeps rising to challenges. This team tonight had what we all have been looking for, passion, integrity and heart and the supporters responded in a way we have not for a long time.

Fantastic to a man tonight. The second half at the Etihad and that incredible effort tonight hopefully gives us a massive platform to kick on in the new year. Loved the display and a raucous atmosphere. Hope madders is okay after coming off, but a great end to the year we won our first FA Cup. Vichai looking down on us tonight with pride 💙🦊

The players gave everything. And that’s all we can ask. But what a performance. Solid as anything. Worked hard and took our chance. Best atmosphere we’ve created at home for a long time. Liverpool support was terrible. Burnley make more noise. Enjoy it lads and lasses.
