Leicester City captain Kasper Schmeichel is the subject of a new ITV documentary.

Leicester City captain Kasper Schmeichel is the subject of a new ITV documentary.

The broadcaster released a short trailer for 'Against The Odds: Kasper Schmeichel - Keeping The Faith' on Wednesday afternoon.

Schmeichel has made over 450 appearances for Leicester City since joining from Leeds United in 2011.

As well as playing a starring role in the club's Championship, Premier League and FA Cup glory, he has also had to deal with tragedy and trauma off the pitch.

He witnessed the fatal helicopter crash that killed beloved chairman Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and four others back in October 2018.

The Dane was also on the pitch when international teammate Christian Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch during Euro 2020 this summer.

His sensational story will now be told in a new documentary, with contributions from Kasper, his father Peter, Wes Morgan and Brendan Rodgers shown in the trailer.

Leicester City fans will undoubtedly be looking forward to learning more about their goalkeeper and club legend whose love and passion for the club has been unrivalled over the past decade.

Glad someone’s said this, as I forgot to mention it in the post match thread. It’s crazy to think that some fans would drop him. The blokes still the best shot stopper in the league I think. 
 

Of course, his kicking and distribution let’s him down a lot of the time, but regardless of people trying to tell you that that’s now a vital part of football, his primary role is to keep goal. Hence him being a goalkeeper 😂

 

That said, I’m not sure why he exacerbates the situation so frequently, especially when his dad used to have a decent throw on him
