I remember acouple of months ago when when we're initially interested in him and the asking price was 20 to 25m tops. And don't recall Milan at that time were interested, we waited and now everyone's jumping board for him and his price has gone up beyond our reach. Player’s agents will also approach clubs to see if they are interested in their player. It is extremely rare for a club to actually bid or make an approach for a player unless they are certain that the player would make the move. It’s embarrassing to be knocked back and more importantly, it’s a waste of time and resources (for both clubs). leeds have no doubt made contact with cdk’s agent. Both agent and selling club have a vested interest in driving up the value of the player (for different reasons). Hence it leaks out that leeds are interested- this puts pressure on Milan to up the ante. There is a risk to CDK that Milan pull out and Brugge decide they want/need the money from leeds and tell him he has no future there. Then the player’s agent will scramble around to see if anyone who he may want to join can match Leeds’s offer.
