Was born in notts. Not sure how long he lived there tho.

Michael Owen, legendary Welsh striker, is "from" Flintshire, Wales. Where he was raised, in Wales. He was born in Chester, England, simply because that's where the nearest hospital was. Doesn't make him particularly English or "from" Chester.

Unless I'm greatly mistaken, there aren't a lot of hospitals in Shepshed. Unless he was home birthed he probably was born in Nottingham, doesn't mean he spent more than a day or two there.

KDH is as much a "Nottingham lad" as Michael Owen is an English one. Which, again, he isn't.

I’ve not been able to put my finger on why I’ve lost a bit of interest in football over the years. It coincided with losing my Dad and PL survival/winning the thing, and I’ve always put it down to that.

But I’m starting to think it might be down to the lack of local derbies since being promoted. I’m buzzing for this in a much different way to say the Cup Final or any PL game we’ve had in years. (And I’m not even guaranteed a ticket) In fact, the last time I was this buzzing was the Derby Friday night Cup game in ‘17

We need some PL derbies, badly.

Exactly this. If his mum had required specialist care during childbirth and went down to Addenbrookes Hospital, it wouldn’t make KDH a ‘Cambridge lad’

Harvey Barnes was born in Burnley. He's still a Leicester lad. Raised in Countesthorpe iirc? His dad, also "a Leicester lad", was just doing community service (playing for Burnley) up North at the time.

They sing about us. They know it's a big game. OK maybe not their main rival but you aren't strictly stuck to having one rival. It's the same way Villa fans are still up for playing Wolves / West Brom etc... when it's been eight years there's a significance.

They'll pretend otherwise to cover their own arses if they don't but they'd absolutely love to beat us.

I knew someone who got rushed to be born at Coventry hospital rather than Leicester for some reason, he lives here and they genuinely picked supporting them over us for that reason. Fantastic decision that, clown.

Leicester and Nottingham are the two cities you instantly think of when you think of the East Midlands, so this isn’t just about football is it. It’s arguably the two most historic cities in the region battling it out for bragging rights. This is a derby and a rivalry bigger than just football and always will be and I won’t have anybody tell me otherwise.
