I’d discourage drugs at all times, not just during dinner.

He was playing v poorly at the end of his Spurs career. Apart from his very unfortunate health issues he has a history of attitude problems. I wish him well but not for us.

No he doesn’t have a history of attitude problems. Where do you get some of the drivel you spout?

Spurs forum pal, you should check it sometimes. He virtually stopped playing. He disappointed in Italy as well. Nothing annoys me more than players of his undoubted ability not giving all they have got.

So that’s not his whole career. It’s common knowledge at the end of his spell at spurs he stopped playing but that was after an excellent long period at spurs.

you’ve marked him as a bad egg due to a 3 month period. If you watch the Amazon documentary on spurs you can see his attitude was fine.

I rated him as one of the best attacking midfielders in the world in fact, a player of profound intelligence but he just lost it  It mystified the Spurs fans and has still not been fully explained.

Not a player we need with our defensive woes killing us week in, week out.

Maybe if we had a player who could hold the blooody ball and pass it forwards maybe are defence would be under less stress , at present no midfielders want the ball in tight spots or they get and play it straight back to the back four

He doesn't get in ahead of anyone, will take him months to get up to speed (if ever), wages even if structured as to minimise our liability will be high.

We have a half fit Eriksen on the bench because he doesn't get in over Maddison, he can't play in a deeper position because he's never been that sort of player either. Definitely not a winger. Who was the last player we signed in the 25-30 bracket that was a success? It doesn't mean that it'll never work again but this signing just doesn't make any sense.

Sometimes I think on here, people are desperate for anybody who has ever kicked a football to show an interest in us. We don't actually need anybody. Buying anybody to plug a gap for injured players almost always causes problems down the line. When Youri Ieaves we need to replace him with a similar player of equal  experience, that is obvious. Amartey is now back so Vestergaard can be benched and JJ is nearly ready for a full match so defensively we should be stronger. Rodgers shows no sign of being too concerned so we will be OK I reckon until the summer. Eriksen may well help Brentford if he is prepared to take that risk, but not us.

Looks like whatever club is going for him isn't close to a deal yet, gone over to Ajax to train with their reserves

Christian Eriksen 'returns to Ajax to train with his former club's reserves' as he builds up his match fitness ahead of a potential move back to the Premier League with Brentford and Leicester in January

Christian Eriksen was back at Ajax on Friday to train with the club's reserve side ahead of his potential return to the Premier League this month.

Eriksen, 29, is on the hunt for a new club after being released by Inter Milan back in October due to his implantable cardioverter defibrillator.

The Denmark international, who suffered a cardiac arrest during last summer's European Championship, was unable to play for Inter after being fitted with the device, with Serie A rules preventing players from competing with pacemakers.

He is still keen to continue his career away from Italy, nevertheless, with reports suggesting Brentford and Leicester are interested in bringing him back to the Premier League.

And according to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Eriksen has been training with Jong Ajax in order to step up his fitness ahead of a potential move back to England.

The ex-Ajax star is said to have met up with former team-mates Daley Blind, Davy Klaassen and Dusan Tadic, as well as Lasse Schone, who also made the trip to Amsterdam.

Unfortunately for the Dutch club's supporters, Eriksen's return is only temporary as he has set his sights on rejoining the Premier League this month.

His agent Martin Schoots said: 'Christian wants to go to the Premier League and I expect this to happen.

'He wants to go to a club where he can play as much as possible. To be able to play at the World Cup, he has to get fit and be active at the highest level.'

Eriksen previously spent seven years in the Premier League with Tottenham, scoring 69 goals in 305 appearances under Mauricio Pochettino and reaching the Champions League final.

Former teammate Dusan Tadic? Have they ever played for the same club together?
