Reading that Christian Eriksen doing great at Brentford.... really ran the match.

The loans only until the end of the season. Should we go for him in the summer, he's still class

It's not a loan.

Firstly where you been? Not read your posts for acouple of days.

I'm sure it's a loan with a option to extend.

What is it than?

Hes didnt have a club so its just a contract. Hes signed for Brentford.

John Brooks is leaving Wolfsburg on a free in the summer.

6ft 4 29 yo American international centre back, very dominant in the air, good on the ball, not quick but not a snail like Vestegaard.

If he’s willing to accept not being the 1st choice centre back he’d make a really good  option.

I like that shout as I think we need 2 new CB's and one on a free or less than £10m would be shrewd. I really like Niakhaté at Mainz who only has a year left on his contract come the summer. He's their captain, left footed and brilliant at set pieces attacking and defending.

Yeah Niakhate is a nice shout, a nicer long term target than Brooks. If we could guarantee 20 games a season from Jonny Evans it would be great but he seems done for really so an experienced head on a cheap deal would be nice.

True, but it's only a 6 month contract.

So he will be up for grabs in the summer.

The priority is to sign no more speculative punts, no more duds and be very careful about so called prospects. The amount of expensive bench fodder we have signed in the last few years is becoming ridiculous. The core of of our team is becoming Championship winning veterans and academy graduates. Our recent successes have been few and far between. I would sooner we sign one carefully researched and expensive sure thing like Fofana than half a dozen based on hope.

He’s as slow as Vestegard.

Maddison and Justin were speculative punts by most standards.

....don't think you could classify Maddison as a speculative punt, he was one of the most outstanding players in that division along with Grealish!!!

JJ would have been a gamble , which seems to have paid off.

He was a guy signed on potential based on lower levels, with no top flight experience.  Thats a speculative punt in this context.  So was Vardy, for that matter.

....to be honest, you could see that Maddison was a top player quite easily!!!

He lacked pace but was very good on the ball and I felt it would only take 6 months before Man. United would be making a bid for him. He has the ability to take the ball on the half turn, could beat a man and had the ingenuity to create chances for others, very much a no brainer, purchase wise!!!

Now Vardy was a punt, £1m for a non league player who other teams had watched but did not commit to. In the same mould you would then say Mahrez was a punt, with his price tag, and coming from the second tier in France.

Dean Henderson looking to leave United apparently - would anyone take him here?

Definitely. Kasper's contract expires next summer when he will be 36 and turning 37 a few months after so giving him another contract doesn't make much sense. Henderson is 24 and could be our Keeper for as long as Kasper has been. It will be sad to see Kasper leave, as it was Morgan, but it's going to happen so we have to plan for the future now and if we could get some money for him in the summer even better. Henderson is a great keeper when he gets a run of games and is number 1.
