Summer 2022 priorities (and realistic options)

Going to Liverpool.

Can’t remember the last championship talent we signed?

There’s a ridiculous amount of great talents in the championship this year. Spurs look set to sign CB Ronnie Edwards from Peterborough, lots of scouts are watching Derby’s Malcom Ebiowei (left footed right winger @Ric Flair:ph34r:) and so many more.. Brennan Johnson, Spence, Isiah Jones, Worrall, Lewis-Potter, Scott, Massengo, to name a few..

KDH did alright at Luton and now he’s bossing the PL! Really hope it’s a market we tap into this summer.

I agree with this. I'll even add the factor of players coming from the education of premier league level academies who have added that metal to their game within the EFL.

James Garner would be a dream if tielemens goes. 🦊🔥

Ebiowei needs picking up by us, it annoys me we missed out on Kaide Gordon. We should be at the front of the queue for Midlands talent, but we seem very reluctant to pay money for U23 players who are then expected to push for the 1st team. This lad looks very interesting.

Investing in u23s players would certainly be a worthwhile venture. Brighton and Wolves have signed 11 u23 players between them this season. Even if they don't make it to the first team, they will make a nice profit from their sale like we did with Kamal Sowah.

Ebiowei is definitely one to keep an eye on! Another left footed right winger in the championship that might be of interest is Femi Azeez at Reading. Nearly signed for Liverpool last summer but got injured just before deadline day. According to transfermarkt his contract expires in June so a small compensation fee will be required. We could sign either of those 2 and loan them back.

So many championship talents it’s hard to keep track!! lol

Alan Nixon is reporting Palace want to sign Ebiowei.

Palace should piss off, they've already bagged Olise and they've also got Rak-Sakyi who are both left footed RW's.

....it makes you wonder where our scouts are looking if they are prepared to let this kind of talent from up the road escape our grasp!!!

This lad or Odin Thiago Holm, would cost us less than £4m and could loan them out to Leuven if we couldn't get work permits. Going to be immense players.

You must love The Guardians Next Generation articles, speaking of which from that list Andreas Schjelderup please based on nothing other than him being class on FM.

Marcus Thuram apparently available.?

Having a pony season but looked like he was destined to be a very good player. Not actually sure where his best position is, reminds me of Rashford in that sense.

@Chocolate Teapot think we might be back in for David Carmo this summer? He's just had an unbelievable game vs Porto tonight and since his return from a bad injury Braga are night and day better as a team. Colossal.

Yes. How longs he got left on his contract?

He fits the bill, depends how much they want and who else is interested I guess.

Would've taken him before Arsenal got their hands on him, still has decent underlying stats...

Some players from the French league seem to find the pace so frenetic that they just freefall even though it was high energy and dynamic play that seemed to be their natural game. A loan with an option to buy would definitely be of interest.

....just went on to YouTube to have a look!!!

All the clips shows him defending stopping balls coming in, last ditch tackles (clean ones) and sticking a toot in to disrupt the oppositions build ups. There wasn't anything regarding his composure on the ball, or the ability to outwit an attacker with a dip of the shoulder or a feint. His long ball passing is top notch, and if he is the one we use to hold his position while letting Fofana or Soyuncu attack the ball, then that will give us a balance in the backline.

Would have loved to see how good he is on the ball, because we need to be able to beat a press, as that is what Rodgers looks for in those positions.
