You’ve just answered your own question in your last comment.

There isn’t a single player that doesn’t have a value. Irrelevant of importance. Football ultimately is a business. No getting away from it.

As mentioned it’ll be a shame to let him go. But the balance sheet always takes precedent over the heart of a fan. Especially at clubs the size and stature of Leicester.

Of course, I’m just seeing price tags of £85 million and feel we could get that or more next season, so surely a no brainier to keep him for one more?

85 mil is a lot of money for any player that plays for us. This guy is so so good but we can’t compete with the teams paying this sort of money for our players. Getting 80 for maguire and possibly 85 for Wes is crazy will be a shame to see him go but if he goes hopefully we do get someone in to replace him. It won’t be easy to get someone at his level but we can still hopefully find someone that will be so a good job for us for the next years.

Your optimism in our Recruitment Team is something I do not share after last summer. That needs a thorough cleansing when Glover arrives in situ.

Do people really think that Romano is responsible for bidding clubs getting information 😂😂😂

he is there for fans - fans can put pressure on clubs so he serves a purpose

rather than following all journos, fabrizio lets you know what’s being reported in one place - and yes he is informed aswell

I’d debate that slightly - he’s certainly used by agents. The reason he was so good in last years was because he had a relationship with Minola that no one else did

He's more consistent and a less than a liability than Maguire (am still struggling to understand how they wanted to pay such an amount, with him being a fairly decent defender but can get caught out here and there).

A £90m asking price would definitely be good value for a highly-rated young defender, given today's market.

Fofana is going but package is going to be over 100 million.

80 up front

and a player.

the way Wes forced his move here was Always going to go, but after the injury thought he would give us a couple of years.

also he could be better than Chelsea.

Man City or Real Madrid player all day

👏 gets caught out quite often, always jumps in and has to use his pace to cover. At 21 no surprise but 24-25 he is one of the worlds best.

Daft question probably, but if Chelsea buy Fofana for £80 million and having already spent in region of £170 mill how does that work with FFP? They have not generated anywhere near that amount

FFP is only for small clubs, didn’t you know?

They will get special consideration because of covid, the ukrainian war and the fact women don’t get paid as much as men.

I believe the FFP rules become even more murky if a new owner comes in.. plus they've got rid of Lukaku

Massive mysterious pipe of revenue generation, it literally spews out brown paper bags full of money, enough to offset any life threatening FFP ‘costs’

He’ll be worth more in 12 months than now anyway plus we’ll have a year more with him. He only played something like 10/15 games last season so if he gets 30/40 this year plus a World Cup we have an even stronger position.

Super League Club. Rules are different. They do what they like.

Chelsea are willing to go to £85m for Fofana and believe that would be enough to get him. Would take their spending over £200m and could be more beyond that (FDJ, Casadei, Auba targeted). So are they going to be able to make anything back on sales? #cfc

What they believe and reality could be different?
