Like to see him do it for 5 years and I would tell him we’d hold him to it ALL if he causes a stink. No one forced him to sign.

He won't be going to the World Cup if he doesn't buck his ideas up. Bench him and start Cags against Southampton.

There’s a bit of twisting going on there.

surely you have to know someone exceedingly well to be able to judge their body language? Some look petulant when happy, some bounce around like bunnies when down in the dumps.

Thought he played very well first half against Brentford, he was clearly upset with himself for not having scored against Arsenal but still charged back to defend against their counterattack.

Perhaps he stormed off down the tunnel because he was upset we’d given the game away not because he wanted to leave.

Hilarious but sad that he’s gone from everyone’s favourite player to now being slated.

Hes’ not the only one that needs to mature.

Just not having this ‘down the tunnel because he’s unhappy with the team/his performance’

pro players just don’t do it

his performance on Saturday was lacking focus. It ebbed and flowed from low to high levels.  If we are holding onto him then we’ve got to put up with this until we play yanited.  It’s possible that Brendan pulls him out of Saturdays game because his head is way off it.  That will feed a great deal of media furore …..it also potentially weakens our position on the fee. But we can justify that until the window is shut, the player isn’t focused so pay the money or F off.

He’s still a kid and perhaps prone to emotional highs and lows.

Plenty of players have stormed off down the tunnel, most are still playing for the same club a few weeks or months later.

People are reading far too much into every move he makes, every social media comment he makes and every rumour from spotty kids with 20 followers.

If he announces he’s staying we’ll have dozens posting that they’ve just ‘jizzed’.

I really should stay off here until the window has closed or the schools have gone back.

Maybe Vesty had some insider knowledge that we couldn’t buy a new centre back , knows Evans is injury prone and thinks he has a chance as playing a lot more if Fofana is sold if he heard insider rumours.

Or he got offered a wage cut of 30k a week, according to Matt Piper anyway.

but why wouldn’t the club just pay the 30k and be done with him.  paying 30k for nothing is better than 80 🤷‍♂️

Owynn P.A is being a fool over this saga.

I've been on the fence with him but he's being a bit of a smug git about the legalities of tapping up whilst ignoring the blatant fact it happens.

Yes. Tapping up is illegal. No. It doesn't stop clubs.

Very naive reporting.

Christ, Owynn just retweeted some of the rules regarding the topic because it's currently in the headlines

no need to call him out for something like that

He wasn't retweeting. He was doing it of his own volition.

But perhaps you're right. It might be better to call out the woeful interviewing.

I mean this isn't retweeting. This is him making some kind of ill informed and naive point trying to sound knowledgeable

I’ve seen a difference in him this season for sure. I’ve lost count the amount of times he threw his arms around the pitch after only two games into the season. I noticed it against Brentford and he was constantly doing it against Arsenal.

I get being frustrated when a result doesn’t go the way you want it to but for me Fofana isn’t doing this, he’s throwing mini tantrums constantly and it’s probably because he thinks he should be able to sign for Chelsea and we’re not good enough for him.

Lets hope someone’s had a word so he learns from this and we see more solid performances from him.

Don't think Chelsea will pay up

and that's at the heart of all of this. Pay the money and it's a done deal. If not then Fofana stays. Incredible, all this discussion, scenario and opinion and it all centres around that one simple action. Will they won't they.

He like Cucurellas insta post the other day, he's just being a typical modern day footballer. If Stevenage Borough got taken over tomorrow by Elon Must or whatever his name is and started paying everyone 300k a week he'd play for them every Sunday. I get that he would play European football most seasons and get paid more but it stinks after breaking his leg, signing a new 5 year contract saying how the club is a family,to then try and engineer a move at the first opportunity.

We shouldn't even think about letting him go at any price until we have a replacement lined up and ready to go. We really  don't want to be left in a situation where we sell him and are then strugglung to find a replcement before the window closes, also with the chance of being asked to pay over the odds for that replacement too, because they know we are desperate and have got substantial money from fofana.

It’s all part of the game isn’t it though? Footballers will say and are probably encouraged to say any old rubbish to get the supporters on side. They know the levers to pull. It’s Boris Johnson levels of nonsense really and utterly baseless, meaningless and without substance. All part of propaganda mission.

Football supporters are the last of the true believers as evidenced by this forum.
