The Kettle and madueke etc were probably lined up. Then no one wants our players. FFP get tighter. We're stuck. Brendan is upset. Fans are upset. The board is silent. The rebuild was on. You have to try to win as many matches as you can and aim to finish as high as you can every year. I felt nervous approaching the main entrance (given the events of the last two days with the old lady and the disabled boy) as he was sat by the door with a manic grin on his face, humming La vie en rose By Edith Piaf. I tried to avoid eye contact but forgot that I was wearing my fox leisure cap from the 2000/2001 season so I was basically walking bait at this point and I could already feel his eyes burning holes in the side of my head. As I got closer I noticed he was holding a sweet little kitten and for a moment I envisaged Little Wes as a reformed character - caring, kind, calm. That illusion was shattered as he chowed down on the kittens face, ripping it off in one fowl swoop and spitting it out at the feet of a 4 year old girl who dropped her mothers hand in shock. Pandemonium ensued as security tried to block the scene as a car pulled up and out jumped Brendan Rodgers, tears streaming down his face, screaming something about his 'missing cat'. I watched on as Brendan fell to his knees and picked the kittens face up from the floor, holding it in both hands and gently kissing it whilst whispering 'goodbye friend, go now, across the rainbow bridge' as Little Wes laughed on, blood dripping from his manic grin. It was then that he must have noticed my fox leisure cap as he stood up and swiped it from my brow, dropped his kecks and slowly curled out the biggest (and I mean really big) turd I have ever seen into the bowl of my cap and then calmly placed the cap on Brendans head. I watched as he leant towards Brendans ear and whipered 'Leicester shitty hat for shitty man' in broken English before breaking out into screams of 'shitty 5 at the back, shitty hat, Vestergaard real shitty'. However there are other factors involved E.g. 1. Have we got a replacement in mind, 2. Can we get them in on time 3. How much will the replacement cost us 4. Will letting him go help us improve our squad or ruin our season? If the club are not satisfied with the answers to all of these questions then we will not sell him this window. The usual reason for losing is being beaten by a better team , sometimes better on the day and sometimes because they are fundamentally better.
