Wesley Fofana - He is no more - finished - forgotten.

It’s going to be a drop in quality, what’s important is we also use the cash to get a right winger and improve the collective rather than the individual.

Arguably we could get someone in a similar mould to Fofana. Not as good but room/potential to improve.

Sadly Mings is not going to improve as a player and hes not going to improve the team.

I agree though we are desperate for a right winger.

So we have what 70m+ to spend;

No director of football yet,

1 week to sound out potential buys,

A severely weakened defence akin to last year's shitshow,

A manager who is useless at tactics and game management,

A manager who will now be rushed into spending potentially big money,

Who is really shit at identifying players, especially by himself,

It's well good innit

But we’re not going to realistically replace somebody who is potentially now the world’s most expensive defender with a better player. Who you expecting us to sign?

Im not saying better but another young player with potential.

Mings is a player who is as good as hes going to be and hes not good enough for Aston Villa.

I'm past caring now. There are very few footballers at this level who wouldn't do the dirty on you if given half a chance.

I can see why he's want to go, he wants to play as high as possible and you never know if the bids will come again but it's not hard to act professionally and with respect. But that's now they are advised to act, Fofana is just a puppet to a scummy agent like most of the other top players are.

I like Fofana but there is no guarantee he will make it to the top. It's a risk by Chelsea.

You're right actually, there's nobody better. I'm ordering my new away shirt with MINGS 3 on the back as we speak.

Good lad.

Seriously though, people are naming these defenders playing in various European leagues, and we have no idea if they’d be any good in the PL.

Mings might be out of favour but he has been a good PL defender and a good performer for England.

It's a shame the Fofana situation has lasted until now. Reckon with the money in for him earlier we could have got Diop in and possibly lowered the fee for Soumare to go to Monaco.

Mings has got loads of good attributes, quick, good in the air, ok on the ball.

Sadly he punctuates that with stupid errors and a lack of concentration.

Bit like how we're now viewing Soyuncu

Guest Col city fan

It’s looking like 70m up front with another 7m as add ons

That’s a fair price imo.

I just don’t trust the club to use it wisely, that’s my main worry.
I can see us now paying over the odds for Akanji and who knows who else.

The players will have been sounded out months ago.

And Rodger’s doesn’t identify players, we have an entire recruitment department that does that.

Yep, what a mess. To add to your list there is also a delay in the arrival of our new set piece coach, meaning that we will probably carry on conceding a set piece goal every game.
