That malicious leg break costed us a chance to see Fofana for a full season which would have in turn: - saved us wasting 15m or so on Vesty - see Fofana’s value goes even higher - more importantly we probably would have made it into Europe and the consequential financial impact would have been avoided - we probably would have a much happier squad and more potential to attract better players Now, instead, our squad is breaking up and our European dream is gone. There’s no way he fails. Its more than likely over caution. I know our medical dept have had some howlers but I don’t think so in this case. A big club like Chelsea can come in and help wreck LCFC's season before it even gets started and they'll get away with it. Also what a salary cap prevents is teams just flashing 3X the salary at a player to help turn his head. If you have a cap, you can't do that.
