I guess the FFP rules introduce a cap of sorts...it's just tied to each club's own turnover so will prevent clubs like us competing. They don't want a more level playing field.

The current system is so unfair. It allows the top 6 wealthy clubs to cherry pick the best players from all the clubs below them, making them stronger and the teams below weaker. Surely this arrangement cannot be allowed to continue when the richest club can almost buy the league title.

Our current league position doesn’t make much difference. The lure of the PL is huge and our recent record of success will be bigger factors.

Exactly, Forest signed Lodi from Atleti, not because of their stellar European pedigree

Speaking of his medical, how we should have sued Villarreal! That malicious leg break costed us a chance to see Fofana for a full season which would have in turn:

- saved us wasting 15m or so on Vesty

- see Fofana’s value goes even higher

- more importantly we probably would have made it into Europe and the consequential financial impact would have been avoided

- we probably would have a much happier squad and more potential to attract better players

Now, instead, our squad is breaking up and our European dream is gone. We missed a golden opportunity. Please SUE Villarreal now that the full impact is known.

Every single one of your points are all conjecture. We can’t sue a club on the basis of something that could’ve potentially happened lol

Do you have any quiet moments coming up?

And if wes hadn’t gone down the back of nino’s Achilles five minutes earlier,  it probably wouldn’t have happened at all

I'm not normally into the whole giving players grief when we play them at their new team. But in this case, I hope our fans make it a really uncomfortable experience for him. Not sure I've ever felt such dislike for a player before. But quite literally everything about this stinks.

Not sure breaking Fof’s leg and subsequently having to sign the lampost is conjecture. That’s £15 million directly linked. However, we would never have won such a court case.

The rest, yeah, conjecture.

Salary caps can only work in conjunction with a "draft" and a no relegation system... this is a great way to equalise the clubs but destroys true competition.

Socialism in sport, everyone gets their chance to become the best team (in a mediocre league)

Lmao what utter nonsense.

That being said, there are other mechanisms in American sports that create parity (like the draft) beyond a salary cap that wouldn’t really work for the PL unless they destroyed the entire football league structure.

So apparently he's gone to New York for a medical?

My guess is someone advised Boehly of what actually happened to Fofana last summer and he decided he's not spending that kind of cash till a med team that he trusts evaluates him.  Still time for LCFC to back out lol

Chelsea fans think something popped up on the medical, and they have sent him to the US so he can be over medicalised further checked by tame doctors

Hardly surprising is it? His leg and ankle were a total mess. He walks odd as it is..

He’s been fit and playing and performing at a top level for months. There’s no way he fails. Its more than likely over caution.

I know our medical dept have had some howlers but I don’t think so in this case. Fofana would have picked up another injury by now.

What happens in American sport that doesn't occur in European football is that the league stands behind the small market franchises.  If a big club breaches the rules (see Patriots taping practices/Deflategate) they get penalized - in the Patriots case draft picks which does hurt them on the field. I don't see that happening here.  A big club like Chelsea can come in and help wreck LCFC's season before it even gets started and they'll get away with it.

Also what a salary cap prevents is teams just flashing 3X the salary at a player to help turn his head.  If you have a cap, you can't do that.  Granted you won't have a 'super team' but you also maintain interest across most markets and overall the value of the league grows.

I have not felt such vitriol towards a player / manager since Brian Little left for Villa. I was at the villa match a few days later and the booing  / abuse that he got gave me Goosebumps. So feck off you turd, I sincerely hope that you fail miserably at your "dream" club. When you come back to the KP bring some heavy armour with you because you are going to need it. You are nothing. I hope Chillwell nuts you on your way through the door. Remember that when you fart, it will be the most intelligent thing you will ever say. You may not be the dumbest and most detestable person in the world, however you must be hoping that the number 1 candidate for that honour does not pass away very soon.

When the thought of going to Chelsea and abandoning the club that helped you through your injury entered your mind, the echo must have been deafening. You are so dense that you emit your own electrical field and light itself bends around you.

So you go now. We are done with you.

So Chelsea don’t buy him due to the US medical- then what?

He comes back, cries and sucks his thumb for a couple of weeks. Rodgers sends him home and then he comes back once he's got his head straight.  I'd give it a month.
