Every single one of your points are all conjecture. We can’t sue a club on the basis of something that could’ve potentially happened lol

What about the money we spent on Vesty, medical costs, and loss in transfer fees. These are quantifiable.

I’d expect that this gets announced today.

It could get done but not announced

Chelsea have a game today

whilst we are negotiating deals, it might suit us for clubs and agents thinking there could be issues with the deal and the big monies aren’t certain.

to stop the coach spending any money - yes

but then we can’t  be responsible for Chelsea’s timescale on the medical  - they have no rush on the deal being done before Thursday am when first team training resumes after tomorrows evening game.

how many deals can we actually get done in a single day - even with things lined up.  And we can surely now only buy/loan players where clubs don’t need to bring in replacements

...interestingly,  we need to have medicals completed, but we can do that in a few hours,  it is not a big deal, why do Chelsea need to go to these lengths!!!

Like I said - could be a number of reasons.  Most likely underwriter request based on info ex medical completed in U.K. / previous recent severe injury. value and salary for six years is upwards of £140m !

The Underwriters could always include an exclusion clause relating to the previous incident. Happens all the time in the Marine Branch.  May be Chelsea are not willing to accept that level of coverage?

I’m not familiar with football underwriting but I would have thought any club wouldn’t accept exclusions based on previous injuries unless it’s a repetitive issue over a number of years like a knee or hamstring.

This happened with Nabil Fakir to Liverpool where the deal was agreed then sent him for a second opinion from a knee specialist after an issue from his previous knee injury was picked up during his medical. This dragged on for a while with Liverpool wanting to lower the agreed fee and ended up walking away - not saying that will be the case here but it's happened before where the buying club has involved additional  specialists as part of the medical screening.

One thing for sure, we will not get a bean from Chelsea until they are sure. So don't go spending what we haven't got.

I'm not sure I'm understanding the reaction to the USA medical? Yeah it's a bit odd, and annoying as everyone just wants this over with, but surely the deal is done, and Leicester have been able to plan and make moves ahead of time. I doubt Leicester are sitting around waiting for this Fofana deal to officially conclude before attempting to speak to other clubs and potential players. If they are, then yikes! But if they're not, then the delay in the official announcement because of this strangely arranged medical should have no bearing on any moves Leicester want to make?

Think that’s the point, the way things are going here nothing is happening until we receive the pennies..

...technically the deal is not done, Chelsea can still pull out, it has happened before, players do fail medicals!!!

It doesn't mean United would pass up on bringing him in after they give him a medical as well.

I can imagine Underwriters definitely excluding specific injuries with some players, otherwise there is no fortuity i.e. it is just a case of ‘when’ as opposed to ‘if’.  See it very frequently in my job. Plus Clubs cannot force Insurers hands.

A little strange this hasn't now been confirmed. The 2nd part of the medical was done yesterday.

Clubs have to get all of their unveiling social media content sorted as well, which can often delay things a bit.
