Where do people get 100m from??? Sorry, but 80m would be a decent price, however any fee and we would struggle to replace him.

Cost as an unknown was £35m, plus another £9m sell on fee.

Leaves us £54 million for a replacement with a week before the season starts. We will also have paid agent fees and signing fees if say £10m.

All to leave us probably worse off than we were.

We don't want to sell do we. That's where £100m comes in. It adequately compensates the club as this transfer is going to mess up our season. He's on a 5 year contract, we can just say no.

Then say no, no price required as he is not in the market this year. :dunno:

No price is the answer, he is not in the market.

We all believe he is a generational talent (and a very cheeky boy) but buyers would state recent injuries proneness and try to dump endless loads of exchanges on us. Feels a weird one.

They're free to do that. We let him smash it for a season with us and then they probably have competition to sign him

20% sell on fee to St Etiene?

Not really....as we would have also got the 35million back that we paid for him minus say the 9million sell on fee. So more like 71million to spend assuming we got 80 million for him.

Surely that would be 20% of the profit. That's a huge figure if it's for the full transfer fee

It was only 2 years ago, do you think St Etienne didn’t realise what potential he had before agreeing to the deal

If he goes I doubt we will get anyone in. The cash will go unspent or we will have our pants down.

Anything under £100m now would be terrible business.

No where states they have included a sell on fee.

The sides came to an agreement on Tuesday, the statement reads, with the fee believed to be €35m (£32m) with €5m (£4.5m) in add-ons.

That above was the deal no sell on fee mentioned

Problem with selling Fofana is it doesn’t help us really. Yes we would get a fee in, but it’s a squad player we could do without losing and we will have to replace him.

We need rid of the likes of Praet, Soumare, Perez and Hamza ideally.

Adding a player into a potential sale wont help either, Colwill looks like he’s off to Brighton so that scuppers that one, and Gallagher for as good as he is, isn’t really what we need.

So this transfer would damage us more than it would help us (apart from the bank).

On Friday, St Étienne and Leicester City confirmed the transfer of 19-year-old French central defender Wesley Fofana, in a €35m + €5m bonuses deal, which also includes a 20% sell-on percentage fee clause

Because he’s one of the best young players in World football & has got 5yrs left on his contract. If he continues on his current trajectory how much will he be worth in 2/3yrs?

Agreed, it just possibly helps us speed up the departures of others whom as it stands might be being offered pitiful deals where we subsidise their wages heavily.

Especially with the whole world knowing we've just pocketed 80m. We will end up having to massively overpay for a replacement.

30m bid for Bednarek incoming

Which is why you do business before you sell?

To a degree I understand what you're saying but it certainly isn't a reason to sell on the cheap, afterall "Leicester City will not be exploited by Premier League rivals"....I'd keep you're mouth shut Bren or get the situations straight with the club before opening your mouth.

Well let's hope so but I just don't know it's worth letting him go for any fee, just can't see we'll get a decent replacement in time

He isn’t going anywhere … this is speculation fueled by Chelsea unsettling him .. sky news because they have nothing better to do and love Chelsea … and about 500 foxestalk members wetting themselves … that’s in my opinion … but carry on as it is mildly entertaining to read all this guff
