It's these sorts of signings I hope we are able to do more of. The one positive we need to get out of spending an obscene amount on a new training ground is giving certain cohorts of players an even better opportunity to improve. We need to be the go to team to develop in to a first team footballer. The recruitment of Paul McGuiness is a huge step in that direction IMO.

Your absolutely spot on in your thinking. We need to develop youngsters from our Academy to become fully successful 1st team players.

The route that we had success in before in finding cheap gems that became outstanding players is now being followed by several other mid table teams eg West Ham Southampton Brighton Brentford etc etc.

Leicester can be unique in the Academy approach whereas unlike Chelsea we hang on to Academy youngsters.

By focussing and pumping resources we will have the Top academy for the development of young players, whereas other clubs are neglecting this area by concentrating on the now by spending s***loads on players for short term gain

Strange this lad still doesn't seem like he wants to associate himself with us. He's finally admitted he's left Arsenal and removed them from his bio but likely a bit bemused he's ended up here.

To be fair, it all sounds like a complicated and messy end to his time at his boyhood club (as someone else has said) just when he'd signed a professional contract.

I can imagine that being potentially quite a hard thing to stomach, it could just be a bit of an emotional time for him. Hopefully he's even more determined to show Arsenal how good he is and we reap the rewards of that.

Anyone know what actually happened with Arsenal? Only signed his pro contract in December and has left them permanently less than 2 month later?

His Dad was Arteta out

....you just get the feeling that he is worth a lot more than that, and it will not take us too long to find out!!!

The last player we picked up for a £1m did not do too bad.

I wouldn’t put him in the same bracket as Vardy…

How so? I wonder why. You wouldn't have thought Arteta would really care what the parents of youth teamers thought of him.

From whats been rumoured from Arsenal fans, Arteta made broken promises to Balogun who then got lumbered in the U23's and the knock on effect was that the strikers in the 17-20 age groups were getting less football.
