Forest Away - Post Match Thread

Recommended Posts

I predicted wed lose this. Not because Rodgers has completely lost the plot or because we genuinely have a defence which would be more at home in league 1 but purely because the city ground is an absolute graveyard for Leicester, second only to Highbury/Emirates. 4 0 in 94, 3 0 the season after, 1 0 to a relegated team in 99, Adams promotion team conceding an equaliser in the last minute, Svens doing the same years later, Pearsons side getting stuffed 5 1 and his 100 point title winning side not being able to do it when we beat near everyone else.

Today is amongst the worst of them though bearing in mind the completely spineless nature of it and what should be the gulf in class. Utterly pathetic and heads need to roll be it certain players, backroom staff or Rodgers himself.

Some people say they'd like Forest in the PL for a local Derby but f*** that. Even our only league win there since the 70s directly resulted in Deeney Day. I never want to see us play at that b*stard ground again. No good can come of it.

He may have mental health problems, so we shouldn't be to quick to judge the lad!

While this maybe true, it doesn’t make it right or excusable? If he’s prone to that sort of behaviour, why was he allowed to be there unaccompanied? If he does why is no one stopping him, looking after him? Also the unnecessary violence and stupidity  around  notts can’t all be dismissed the same way? There were moronic people who went to that game to cause violence in the name of football and that is pathetic and mindless. Throwing tables at restaurants, starting fights, they’re not fans. They’re thugs looking for trouble.

He should still get a life time ban as you can’t let this type of thing happen or let it go. If he does have a mental illness then he needs to receive the help he needs as he’s a danger to the public if he’s liable to this sort of behaviour. For me, I can live with the result as it’s just a game, just a hobby following my team. What I can’t stand is the behaviour of the minority yesterday.

If you were part of it and on this forum, get off as you are not a football fan and no one wants you associated with this club. I would also suggest to get the help or support you require for anger related issues

The performance yesterday wasn't good enough to keep a PL side up.  It wasn't good enough to get a Championship side promoted.  Which shows the level of the team now.

Every manager in the PL will have seen that - our defence being brushed aside by average players, our midfield not creating enough and our whole team looking bereft of confidence and they'll fancy playing us and getting all the points.  This malaise has to be addressed now, and urgently, with the primary target being PL survival - failure to do that would set our club back years.

Top looked very unhappy yesterday and I think heads will roll, either with the management team, some of the players, or both.

You could say the same about most crimes though. Which normal person stabs someone? Which normal person kills someone? Nobody other than self defence. There would be hardly anyone in prison if we just said well he must have mental health issues to have done that as nobody of a sound mind would. The club has rightly banned him for life and any criminal prosecution is entirely justified. It's then up to a court if he was insane or not.

What a thoroughly depressing day in all respects. Dreadful performance. Idiotic behaviour by the pitch invader. Stupid scenes in Nottingham.

A total embarrassment.

The narrative on the football front has turned from ‘this group is young and will learn’, to ‘this group needs a refresh’ over the last six months.

We’re drifting alarmingly, and whilst I hope Brendan can restore order and discipline, I’m starting to feel as if it may be beyond him.

We need to scramble to about 37 points with some grit and determination as soon as possible, but the fixtures ahead don’t look too promising.

And I’m off to Liverpool on Thursday. Gulp.

Maybe it's been said already but, BR isn't the only one who coaches and manages the team. There's a team of supposedly experienced, specialist coaches that are also involved in how we play. What the F are they doing? Toure for one.

I take your point here, but BR picks his back room staff. If they’re not upto the job like the players then that is arguably easier to change, so my only presumption is that he doesn’t feel his staff are out of their depth.

Ref defo had a part to play in this game especially this moment. I didn’t think it was a peno because it was outside the box but certainly looked a foul. Why the fvck world Lookman go down outside the box, he was wrong side of the defender and driving into the box! They went down the other end and scored after this and we never did see a replay. I’ve always thought this gormless tŵat ref was a useless nerd and today proved it. It wasn’t the main reason we lost however.

I'm glad someone else mentioned this too.

I'm not trying to exonerate any of our defending, that was absolutely awful, but I thought this was a pivotal moment.

As soon as we got a goal back, Forest players and fans became nervous.  One more goal and it would've been game on.

Lookman appeared to be driving into the box.   5 more yards.   Shoot.

And he just seemed to go down.   Maybe there was a fraction of contact?   Who fckin cares.   Drive on.  SHOOT.   SCORE

A minute or so later, they break again, 4-1 , all over.

It was an absolutely baffling decision. Happened right in front of where we were and I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Knowing there was no VAR maybe entered into his thinking but it was bizarre.

Or he likes the staff because they buy in to his philosophy or they're yes men who are happy to coach his philosophy.

When Kelechi didn't just hit it on his right but instead squared it back to Daka for a half chance was also up there for chances squandered.

He did it because he didn't want the shot.

The bloke wimped out big time.

As usual Lookman's decision making was shit.

If Rodgers does have a overhaul, which we need, then I hope we don't sign him permanent because that's not improving the team.

I'm a City fan living in Leeds. Leeds fans always seem to manage it, regardless of the score they're suffering.

Leeds fans different breed. Pointless comparing because I’m at the point now where I just think they’re innately different. Cannot put my finger on what it is - it really is one in all in with them.
