Head losses following a lack of leadership/calming voice.

So what, we pumped a fair amount of the leagues dross which is somehow a defence of Rodgers’ abysmal track record of bottling’s?

No, I did it for balance.

As for beating "league dross", you can only beat what you come up against. Are Man City not actually that good because they usually only put 5/6 passed the likes of Fulham and Watford?

Liverpool (a) 22nd December 2021

We didn't touch the ball for about 20 minutes at the end of the game and conceded with virtually the last kick.

Chelsea (h) 20th November 2021

We conceded from another set piece before going on to be completely battered. 2nd goal kills us off 15 minutes later.

Arsenal (h) 30th October 2021

Lose the game within the first 20 minutes with two completely avoidable goals.

Palace (a) 3 October 2021

Throw away a two goal lead with 11 minutes of madness. Two completely avoidable goals.

Brighton (a) 19th September 2021

Two simple goals either side of half time make a comeback almost impossible despite a good effort.

Napoli (h) 16th September 2021

Two late goals to throw away a 2-0 lead. Eventually cost us our place in the RO16. Stupid red card from Ndidi.

West Ham (a) 23rd August 2021

Two 15 minutes of madness here. 1st half go behind and a man down and in the second half throw away a fightback with ridiculous defending.

Spurs (h) 23rd May 2021

3 goals in 15 minutes to throw away the Champions League despite Chelsea giftwrapping it to us.

Newcastle (h) 7th May 2021

We went 4-0 down against Newcastle at home in a must win game.

West Ham (a) 11th April 2021

Three goals in 15 minutes to lose the game despite a good attempt at a comeback in the second half.

Two simple goals to lose the game in the last 15 minutes of the game despite being in a winning position.

Fulham (h) 30th November 2020

Two simple goals within 8 minutes of each other to lose the game in the first half against a shit Fulham team.

West Ham (h) 4th October 2020

Lose the game in the first half against an out of sorts West Ham when we were flying. Two easy goals.

Man United (h) 26th July 2020

Lose the game (and UCL qualification) as well as a ridiculous red card in the last 15 minutes against United.

Spurs (a) 19th July 2020

Shocking defending leads to three simple Spurs goals for us to lose a must-not-lose game by the 40th minute.

Bournemouth (a) 12th July 2020

Arguably the worst head loss i've ever seen from a football team. Lost 4-1 to relegation favourites including a ridiculous red card.

Everton (a) 1st July 2020

Two goals down after 16 minutes. Lost the game and a lot of momentum.

Watford (a) 20th June 2020

Absolutely no concentration in the last minute at a corner. Drew a game we should have won comfortably.

Can't be arsed going further. These all occurred since project restart.

Well aren’t you a cheery b*stard 😂😂😂 A true ray of sunshine on an otherwise cloudy day

Tbf Arsenal at home also. Ramsdale had the game of his life.

I think the Brighton one is fair but the Arsenal game was lost because in the first 20 minutes we didn't deal with Arsenal's high press whatsoever. One of the points of this thread was to point out that we lose games despite playing okay for large spells in them. We just have 10-15 minutes where we play at a non-league level and it costs us points time and time again. The Arsenal game absolutely is an example of that.

We need a new captain. It’s no surprise who was in goal for all but one of those games

Do you mean someone who is scared to death to leave his line incase he gets 'clattered'? Doesn't really set a good example for 'putting yourself out there' does it?

After being 1 - 0 at half time and making inexplicable tactical and personnel changes at the break. Two of the goals and a red card came in about 90 seconds with less than half hour remaining.

You'll never sort this by signing a leader on the pitch btw, even if we signed 2 or 3 of them, we'd still have these issues, it stems from the manager.

People like Kasper, Cags, Ndidi, Iheanacho, Tielemans and Amartey are old enough and have played enough to be the leaders and commanders we need, obviously not all will be up to it but two or three definitely should be, yet when we go a goal or two down, they're the worse for going into their shell and doing nothing about it.

Christ, I forgot about that Iheanacho sub.

I'm starting to dislike Rodgers more as each game passes.

90% of the teams on your list we should be beating anyway. I couldn’t pick out more than maybe ten outstanding performances from his tenure.

So many of these games I’ve forgotten. We have been poor for a long time when laid out like this. I’ve said before this group is soft.

We need a change.

Anyone that attributes this more to the players than the manager is insane, by the way.

I accept some players just aren't great under pressure or might not be as strong mentally as others but this is a pathological problem that comes from him.

He does not inspire either confidence or motivation in his players, he's got absolutely no idea how to calm things down, ground them, stabilise them either mentally or tactically. Stacks of these involve ridiculous tactical changes and swaps by him, such as that Bournemouth away game or conversely complete inaction like that recent Spurs game where he just watched our players counter attacking and stretching the game on the 92nd minute with no attempt what so ever to get them to just be compact and sensible. Tony fvcking Pulis wouldn't have lost that game from that position.

Said elsewhere at 2-0 on Sunday. A player/leader should have feigned an injury. Taken all the tempo out of the game. At 2-0, there was still something to salvage.

That Spurs loss last day is forgotten about too easy. 4th was there for the raking and we totally crumbled

The worst thing is that we are now the bottlers when it's something we could get over on Spurs. We have taken their trophy!

It is a glaring issue.

For all the leaders we supposedly have on the pitch, they certainly don't show it? What's that leadership group doing? Schmeichel, Vardy, Evans, Maddison, Youri? They are key cogs in the side - where were they on these days of implosions?

It'll get worse if Kasper, Vardy and Evans aren't replaced properly.

I think it also relates to being too nice as a team. We don't have enough bad apples, so to speak. Vardy used to be it but not so much any more.

The best teams have at least 1 or 2 that will basically do the dirty work and commit those nasty fouls. Take one for the team, for instance. No one doing those tactical fouls. Liverpool have Fabinho and Henderson, Man City have Rodrigo, previously Fernandinho. Chelsea have Jorginho, Kovacic, Thiago Silva. Even Arsenal have Xhaka.

We have no-one doing that dirty side of the job on the pitch like the others above do. Too many players fearful of a hard tackle here and there. Maybe Ndidi is the only physical one we have, and Albrighton not afraid to put his body on the line.

"The worst thing is that we are now the bottlers when it's something we could get over on Spurs. We have taken their trophy! " Until they actually win something, thats completely false.

We won the FA Cup last year, you can hardly throw that title at us. We failed to get top 4 .... you only have to look at the budgets concerned to see how thats not bottling.... no matter how it happens.

I've never known a team implode when in such comfortable, secure positions before.

This goes beyond injuries or "success being a disease" as Rodgers likes to say. This about mentality, and after 3 years in charge the manage has to take full ownership of that mentality.
