It’s a dying position with modern wing backs.

Yeah. I’m coming around to this idea. This country seems to produce decent wing backs, and we ourselves have produced two already, and we’re stacked in that department, and we do love to play three at the back. I suspect Barnes will be a right sided attacking player and we’ll try to get in another if we can’t play Ian there. Perez was probably bought for that reason, that and his interception stats that assisted our FA cup goal.

Give it a year and I think we’ll have

       Barnes Daka Ian

    KDH Ndidi Soumare

Thmas Soy Fofana Justin

                Kasper

With Ndidi dropping back and Justin and Thomas bombing forwards. Cashing in on Maddison, Tielemans and Ricardo making at least 180 million.

I could see us copying Klopp at Liverpool using Iheanacho as a false 9 and Daka/Barnes as inside forwards with a combative midfield like that one and wingbacks, although wouldn't be surprised if Ricardo stayed and Castagne was in the rotation as well.

Just one option from many.

Leaving us one injury away from struggling again.

The signing of Soumare addresses one of our key shortcomings - a paucity of quality depth. It should not be viewed as primarily merely a means to make money in the transfer market. Not saying that we should ignore Maguire-type sale opportunities, but we will likely make more money by being a more successful club.

Beast out there, that moment 3 Man City players were on him and he just bounced them off one by one, kept it calm and laid it off. Ball seems stuck to him under pressure. Will add some more much needed grit to midfield, also make it difficult for teams who try to bully us.

That was one of my favourite moments. My mind couldn't compute how he still came out with the ball. He is some player!

That was against Man City no less. *Extremely* impressive play that.

You can tell he's still a bit raw, but definitely has the raw fundamentals. He is perfect for the Premier League, that physicality, his ability on the ball and intelligence to pick a good pass will dominate many a team.

Will be yet another Leicester player that gets sold for 2-3 times what we paid for him.

Also watching the post match celebrations, he's mingling around guys like Youri and they genuinely look amused with what he's saying. Another head strong, confident good lad just like Fofana methinks. Build our squad with the right characters

What was even more impressive was the players he brushed aside. From memory 2 of those 3 players were Rodri and Mendy, 2 of the biggest guys in the Man City team.

When they try to take the ball,

On the floor they will fall,

That's Soumare!

Sorry this is just like he's playing with them, noticed this in a previous game. He doesn't seem to mind the ball being slammed into him under pressure, he'll just deal with it

Uses his body expertly, what a talent we've got here!

This guy is pure street football. Important not to over coach him because he’s clearly blessed on the ball and ****ing strong with it too. Perfect player to bring on to shut out a game. Two holding with him and Wilf will be impenetrable.

Also note in the vid above how he utterly embarrassed ‘they didn’t come to play’ knobber Rodri lol

LOL @ Man City players lol. As for Soumaré, he is built for this league. Very reminiscent to Yaya Touré as a player. Signs are early, but I am confident he will be a success.
