None of our lads will go and all our precious fans will be in tears, even though everyone claims to not care about England.

A large and increasing number of LCFC fans are not English you know  Why should they give a toss about what Southgate does or doesn't do?

He is the best midfield player of his age in England that is why he is talked about. He was considered an exceptional talent when he was at Fulham.

I’m the best right back of my age in Syston. I’m 35. When i was at Syston Park FC I was talked about as an exceptional talent.

I think Maddison didn't do himself any favours with the casino incident. Southgate has massive belief in the squad dynamic, hence Coady being one of the "key" members of the squad. Personally, I get it after the issues with the golden generation that never delivered despite being massively talented. I dont think we will see Madds in the World Cup barring injury crisis, no matter how well he plays.

But then Foden and Grealish flouted lockdown rules. Grealish could have killed someone driving recklessly and Kyle Walker also broke lockdown laws to **** prostitutes. So that would make Southgate a bit of a hypocrite. Going to a casino isn't much of a crime compared to some of the above.

I think the issue is that prefers the perennially ineffectual Mason Mount.

By my reckoning, there are over 80 current players who are England internationals.

The most successful current player not to win an England cap is probably Marc Albrighton.

There are very few players who play more than a few games for an entitled 6 club but do not win a cap.   Currently,  names that spring to mind are Wam-Bissaka , Holding and Skipp.  I suspect Chalaboah will be called up soon.

Players who might feel players of similar or lesser quality have won caps ahead of them include Albrighton, Justin and KDH.  After his early season form,Demarai Gray might feel he was close.   Not many others spring to mind.  Lascelles perhaps?  Consa?

On top of this, Vardy rarely started.  I think Maddison and Barnes have three caps between them.

Perhaps I am being one-eyed.   If not, Southgate having an anti Leicester bias would seem to have some legs.

Not sure why some of our fans are complaining that none of the Leicester players have been called up by Southgate.  From a club-selfish perspective, this may be not be a bad thing. And in any event to be fair, we are languishing mid table and only just starting to win a few games. Apart from maybe Maddison who should at least be on Southgate’s radar, none of our players should be called up based on club form.

Vardy the legend is injured and in any event has retired.

Barnes has been too inconsistent this year and there are currently better players who deserve to be called over Barnes.

Did someone mention JJ? Come on. He has just literally come back from long term injury and while his return has been promising he is nothing close to the level he should be to be called up.

And did someone say Luke Thomas and KDH? Ok, they may be promising youngsters who are starting to make a name for themselves, but an England call up? Not quite there yet I

am afraid. There are plenty of competition especially for KDH.

I get the point but Walker is a 50+ cap, Grealish is the public favourite and Foden could be the best we've had since Gazza. Maddison on the other hand was a new boy.

The perception was he didn't really care too much and thats never good even though it is the wrong perception.
