Maddison

The way things are going it doesn't look like he's going to be fit again this season. The way the club are being cagey with the information does not bode well.

This season? That’s a bit of a leap isn’t it mate?

Haven't they just said he will be back in 7-10 days?

Can't say i've seen that, only injury update i've seen is on Evans.

From what i've seen we are being drip fed information with no real timelines on things which usually indicates a long injury, they've done it with Betrand the whole time he's been here.

My understanding was that at the World Cup the ‘top part’ (clinical terminology here I know) of his knee hurt and then upon return he got a niggle on the lower part of at the back of the knee when striking the ball so went to a specialist who said he’ll be fine in a week or two?

The basic medical consensus in the football world is that Maddison is a bit broken and so I don't necessarily see all this stuff about a move to the big 6. This isn't even particular ITK stuff. He's also been targeted since initial issues with players leaving one on him to the hip/bottom of the back where he's had issues. I believe he pretty much re-modelled his running style and the way he moves and leaps to remove as much stress/strain from his hip/back and now his knees are bad. Its a bit like alluvial flooding; you can move the problem, but you can't make it go away entirely.

That said, we sold a broken Fofana; so who knows. Some other club might think 'we'll look after him better than Leicester' and they are likely right.

FOX HUNTING

Newcastle make James Maddison transfer their No1 priority as Eddie Howe goes back in for Leicester star

I read that Romano said they're looking to get him in the Summer as a January deal is too difficult.

Likely he goes then.

He's not going anywhere this month. In the summer he'll be off and it will be a very bitter pill to swallow when he turns out in the colours of another team.

Man City interested in signing him in the summer

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11696357/Manchester-City-interested-signing-Leicesters-James-Maddison-summer.html

Manchester City are interested in a move for James Maddison this summer, while Premier League rivals have enquired about the availability of the Leicester playmaker this month.

The Premier League champions, who have let the disgruntled Joao Cancelo depart for Bayern Munich, will have to be active ahead of next season, with the futures of Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva up in the air.

City hold an interest in Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham but have also identified Maddison, with Pep Guardiola wanting more goals from those behind Erling Haaland.

Well if Man City want him, I guess Newcastle can get in the bin.

Man City keen apparently.

This is more of a move for him. Team already winning trophies. He's not gonna want to join a club like Newcastle who are only dreaming/aiming to be in Manchester City's current position.

Hopefully we get more than £60m this time.

We won’t get 60m with one year left on his deal.
