.. well the players say it is!!!

We will see what Harry does. The horrifying thought of giving up his near perfect life and moving to f****g Manchester Utd. might not appeal so much. Especially as next season he gets to spend his Wednesdays at home with his expanding family.

I think he chooses Spurs, no CL this year but potentially season after.

Also got to take into consideration his Mrs and kids - Newcastle isn't a very tempting place to live, especially when his Mrs is from America aswell.

Closer to his bum chum Chilwell aswell!!

Have you been to Newcastle in recent times? It's a really nice city with friendly people (even Newcastle fans) 🤣.

London on the other hand is a boil on the arsehole to live. Wouldn't want to take my Mrs and kids to live there.

London is where the rich and famous want to live however.

Hence the rumours Newcastle buying a training facility near to London to attract bigger names

Newcastle is indeed a fine city but when the wind blows down the Tyne off the sea , its not for soft southerners. If you come from Oslo then its not a problem. Bony Jimmy would need a thick coat.

I could be wrong; but would his hip/knee actually cope with the pressing/attacking style of play Ange may play?

We've seen him and Nacho would both end up in the same space, making very similar runs, which would probably happen with Kane.

He wont start if he goes to Newcastle, they have better players than him already.

He must be shitting himself at the thought of replacing quality like Sean Longstaff and Jacob Murphy

Seems unlikely he will be playing with Kane if he goes to Spurs

Hopefully this will be a nice bidding war. Its quite grim up north and Madders looks like someone who wants to lavish in a London lifestyle alongside his bum buddy Ben Chilwell.

And yeah Newcastle is one of the nicer cities but when does a premier league football get to roam a city in a peace. At least London he will be amongst many rich people.

Whether you like it or not, Newcastle probably represent the future of the premier league and will be going toe-to-toe with Man City in the next few years. Spurs will just be hanging around the middle of the table as usual, but oddly I could see Madders being a more important player for Spurs than Newcastle in term of infuence. Be interesting to see where he goes.

Hope he goes spurs he will suit them bottlers like him! literally can’t wait for the muppet to leave! Surprised he’s even got interest with his attitude and how he’s played since the World Cup! Think he’s peaked! Good riddance!

Really, didn't know they were doing that, interesting. A sign players are getting even less invested in their clubs and fanbases perhaps?

Probably it's just me and an age thing but I've felt less connected to the club over the last couple of years than ever before.

Some of it also possibly perhaps down to a more corporate and sanitised approach by the club also I think. What used to be merely a football match attended by fans just wanting to watch a sporting event and support their team has now become a rather overhyped plastic over- commercialised so called 'experience'.

Having just googled it, I believe I may have just seen an opinion piece rather than anything concrete.

But I think your point is perfectly on the point, I don't think players are as invested as they used to be, genuinely think we're now in a "it's a job" era of football rather than those who did it because of their love for the game.

No I agree, I'm mid-20s and I've felt less and less connected to the club lately. I've missed more matches this year, and didn't feel that sad about it. Closest I've come to not renewing.

We're just customers, rather than fan's now amongst other commercialised aspects. But this isn't a discussion for the Maddison thread so I shall leave it there.

Going to miss this guy when he goes. Very good player for us. Genuine class.

Glad someone else has said it. Quite often our best player. Always plays forward, very creative. Always spoke well about the club, hasn't stropped and stopped training like others when they knew others were looking to sign him.

Has been committed. Yes he is jumping ship now but to be fair he should be in the England squad and the championship would hold him back so needs to take care of his own ambitions

I just really hope he don't go spurs though. Not just the fact I can't stand them, but I just don't see him adding to his medal collection there. Players like him I'd be happy to see move on and be a success.

He’ll 100% choose spurs he’s loves London as well. Class player but he again let us down massively when we needed him most. See ya 👋🏻

This is my only issue with Maddison. By a country mile our most talented player but he went missing in the run-ins in 2019/20, 2020/21 and last season. It's the simple truth even if it does seem harsh to single him out.

Looks like Spurs are trying to move fast.

Think its a good move for him - low pressure (they're used to bottling it) and will have his pal Kane ensure he plays for England.

Been a good player in patches but will never go down in folklore IMO.....he'll never be an Izzet, Lennon, Guppy, Vardy, Kasper type legend for us.......he divided the fan base too much (me included!).

Best of luck to him - we stand to gain more by cashing in.
