Roma away (Travel Plans) 5th May

I've done this, they email you a copy of the form that you can print off and also give you a URL link to the completed form as well.

Also from previous experience I suggest anyone who isn't booking a hotel as they're flying out early Friday, just find literally any genuine hotel address details and put those on the form. Leaving it blank could cause you issues if you are asked at border control for the form.

Is it best to stay close to the stadium or by Termini for getting back from the stadium or get a hotel by the stadium? What are others plans? I’m travelling on my own now my mate has pulled out

The biggest likelyhood is that bus shuttles will be put on after the game to make the journey back into the centre (I’m fearing the collection point being the pick up spot which could lead to Napoli esque farce). So you’d be doubling up your journey there.

Termini has hotels aplenty but I’d try avoid it alone if possible and try to group up with some city fans when we get back there.

The Olimpico is some distance out of the city too. So will restrict your drinking choices and be bit of a drag if you want to see any of the sights

Thought I’d just post here as someone who’s decided to say screw it and bought a ticket for the match - and now dealing with the logistics of actually getting there! Decided to make a real adventure of it and try and do it as cheap as possible, so flying from East Mid to Venice, and getting a train into Rome on the day of the match. Planning to stay home n Rome night of match and get an early train back to Venice following morning.

I have never seen an English side in Europe, so could really do with some tips on where I should be staying, how the police like you to travel to and from the match etc.

I was planning to try and be a solo traveller, stay somewhere near the stadium and walk there and back for the match. I get the impression that’s not wise/possible.

Any tips from experienced fans much appreciated!

Is this something you have to do in addition to having NHS app or as an alternative?

In addition to it, your NHS App is what they refer to as your green pass, I’d do everything they ask to save giving them the pleasure of refusing you entry as they maybe looking for an excuse not to let you in

See my post above yours.

I’d recommend booking a hotel near Termini. The police will put buses on to get us to the stadium and back again post-match.

From past experience, when you have an entire away end getting dropped in one place late at night post-match there’s a mad scramble for taxis etc so it pays to be within walking distance. Termini has a dodgy reputation late at night though so if you’re solo maybe don’t give yourself too much of a walk.

Thank you! Have grabbed a cheap and cheerful hotel room near Termini so can hopefully slip in there quickly after getting dropped off.

I assume the club send out details on ticket collection and pre and post match travel? My usual footballing adventures are extend to sometimes watching some non league stuff in front of a bloke and his dog 😂

I was in Bologna for a weekend over Easter and the NHS App worked fine for me when wanting to eat in anywhere (which was the only time I was asked to show it until going through security on the way home). Had a printed copy with me as well just in case

Thanks mate. Just had a look at the site and based on below I will complete in the day once checked in:

When should travellers complete the digital passenger locator form in the EU application for dPLFs?

  • Travelling via cruise ship (Before disembarkation)
  • Travelling via ferry (Before embarkation)
  • Travelling via train, bus or car (Before embarkation)
  • Travelling via airplane (After check-in and before embarkation)

The rules are set to change on Sunday, so a PLF may not even be required

They’ll let us know what’s happening with ticket collection, but by the sounds of it, they don’t even know themselves yet.

I don’t recall them informing us before travelling to Naples of an escort. (Think they told us at the ticket collection point)

But they did kindly send out some information for Rennes (I think it was) about what to do if one of your mates dies abroad  😂

That first part would be me, got a ticket and don’t even have my passport yet!

Finally sorted out my flight. Female travelling on my own so a little bit out of my comfort zone. Flying from Gatwick with Wizzair on Wednesday 11.30am & fly back Friday morning 8.20am (that is going to kill me). Anyone else on these flights? And for those staying Wednesday night, where will everyone be drinking

You are less than a 5 minute walk home and you should be fine getting there.

Most taxi drivers will refuse to take you as it is not worth there time.

Get it, but if we are 2 - 0 up after tonight you can guess border security will be right sh*ts to us to stop people actually getting to the game and getting a serious kick out of that and I am not arguing with them. They'll make up their own rules especially if they're Roma supporters. Just tick the box and not have any hassle in my opinion

Exact same flights as mine there and back. My train time is later as I am unsure how long it will take to get the bus at Naples airport to to the train station, but I've got the flexibility to change it to another train if I want for €3 as long as it's with the Italo train company. I was concerned about a train close to when I was due to land as I got over an hour delay to Eindhoven 2 weeks ago thanks to Easyjet
